Well it’s the long weekend for me here in Australia, and it’s a prime time to do some catch up on the backlog of figures. So I hope I can get through a lot of them in the next few days. This figure would have to be one of the most anticipated figures for 2007 after seeing the promotion pictures for it. Of course this figure is a big welcome to my ever-growing ARIA merchandise kingdom but by far would have to be one of the best items out of them all. So hit the jump to check out more photos for Max Factory’s Alicia Florence.

It’s very rare for figures to come as pairs. Sure enough you have the series, but pairs of figures make it more special than say a set of 6. The pair always share a special kind of bond that makes them a whole whether they are fighting for justice, a romantic couple, or even a comedy couple. In essence, you can’t have one figure without the other, and here is a good example of that: Cure Black and Cure White of Pretty Cure.

It’s been 2 years since I last went to a Mini-Animania Sydney event, and back then I wasn’t too impressed. But this time around I figured it was time to head back and see if anything has changed in those two years, plus I have money to attend compared to last year, lol. So armed with the shiny camera, not so much cash, and deprived of sleep because of work, I headed down to the city to see how things would turn out. So hit the jump to check out photos and my overall impressions. WARNING: Picture intensive post.

As a long time figure collector, most of the lovely ladies possess cuteness, elegance, or just your average school girl look. But I do like to venture beyond these attributes and pick up a figure which is different and something that stands out. Well with the recent Halloween Girl figure, I might as well keep going with the trend of sexy figures, but also continue with some more indoor photo shoots. So keep your pants on and hit the jump to check out photos of Max Factory’s Fasalina.

As a long time figure collector the ero type of figures have never really appealed to me. The idea of having naked figure in any form would certainly bring about many questions not to just my family members, but as well as any surprise visitors to my room, lol. Of course that is only one reason but I guess the main reason is that I don’t find it very tasteful to have one. However there was one figure that had made me change my mind about all of that. Halloween Girl. Hit the jump to check out the pictures (keep in mind, this is an ero figure, so NSFW).

As a photographer, it always brings me great pleasure to know that the photos I take are appreciated, whether it be positive or negative, but an even greater pleasure if they are used in publication. Ever since I had my shiny camera, it brought about some wonderful opportunities and experiences, and pretty much all of it is self-taught. The GSC Manabi figure I took photos of will be used in Mondo, a Hungarian anime/manga magazine (yet to see how that one looked). Of course my photos aren’t just limited to figures. Come convention time, I’m pretty trigger happy and the photos come flowing through. Some of you may remember me mentioning that I did a photo shoot for Madman Entertainment during Supanova last year, well they finally got published!

Anime Update is a mini-magazine released by Madman Entertainment bringing us some info on some of the latest Australian releases. Most of the stuff covered in this magazine are things I’ve already watched, but it’s nice to know what the local market has to offer as it’s sure cheaper than buying the Japanese DVDs. Anyway, the part I’m most interested in was this:

The photo shoot I did was of the winner of the Sunday cosplay competition, Freddy Krueger. Seriously, when I saw his costume up close, it looked so freaking awesome. Anyway I’m happy that my photos are being used somewhere and I can only hope more opportunities like this will arise. So in the meantime, I’d like to thank Slykura of Madman Entertainment for giving me the opportunity to take photos for him, and also my photographer pal Bubby for informing me about the article, as well as scanning it for me.
Also a small note about the site running slow or not loading for some. Dreamhost is looking into the issue of the server being on high load. Sucks being on a shared server.

The working life sure is a bitch. These past few weeks I haven’t had the chance to use my camera all that much but hopefully I will soon. Anyway now that I’m back on track with a few things I finally got the chance to go through some of the photos that I took way back during my Christmas holidays. So going through the last of them, this time around, it’s Max Factory’s Kureha from Shining Wind.
