Figure Review: Kureha of the Forest

The working life sure is a bitch. These past few weeks I haven’t had the chance to use my camera all that much but hopefully I will soon. Anyway now that I’m back on track with a few things I finally got the chance to go through some of the photos that I took way back during my Christmas holidays. So going through the last of them, this time around, it’s Max Factory’s Kureha from Shining Wind.

Figure Review: Shinku inviting you for tea

Now this was a figure I was really looking forward to in 2007. The moment that this figured arrived, I actually opened the box up just to see just how awesome it looked compared to the promo pictures available, and my word was it a beauty. Definitely a figure long overdue for a photo shoot, but I wanted to do this one right. But alas for this kind of figure, it’s a little hard to take outside without the risk of damaging it in anyway, thus an indoor shoot was done. So this time around, it’s Alter’s Shinku from Rozen Maiden. Hit the jump to check out the rest of the photos.

Figure Gallery: Konomiya Tamaki, my other Da Capo love

Despite me saying that I was hoping to get through the figure photography backlog, well it all didn’t go as planned. The somewhat scorching Australian sun did wonders to my motivation, as well as lack of sleep, but I struggled to fight it and managed to squeeze in some figure photography in the end. Now this figure is one that I stupidly canceled just a week before it was released for reasons I can’t quite remember, but she is finally mine and a part of my ever growing collection. This time, I present a Da Capo heroine, Konomiya Tamaki.

Figure Review: Athena Glory, Siren the Singing Water Fairy

So far my holidays have been pretty average, but as I mentioned before, I do squeeze in time to do figure photography, and this one was definitely long overdue. Ever since this one figure arrived, I’ve been itching to go out and take photos of her, but alas my time is rather restricted during the weekends. With the help of good friend Roobar, I finally managed to what was going to be the largest photo shoot to date. And so I present to you, the last in the ARIA figures released by Solid Works, Athena Glory. Hit the jump to check out the rest of the photos.

The Result of my Burning Passion - Figure and Merchandise Spending 2007

As many of you are aware, I’m an avid spender when it comes to figures, or anime merchandise in general. I myself as a buyer have grown accustom to never looking at the price when it comes to buying ANYTHING, and I still hold to that this year. Throughout the year, there has been quite a number of changes that have affected my spending habits such as entering my darkest moments in financial stability, the time I destroyed my clutch, the time I got into my full time job, and my biggest spending spree at a convention. Of course these are only partial factors of the end result, and boy, is the end result rather surprising. So hit the jump to check out the Result of my BURNING PASSION for 2007!

Figure Gallery: Iriya Kana, another purple haired beauty

As promised, I’m starting to work through the figures that have piled up over the past few months, and to kick off this series of figure posts is one that I’ve wanted for quite a while, and only managed to get her way back in October during Animania. For those who don’t know, I have this BURNING MOÉ PASSION (does that even make sense?) for girls with long purple hair. The moment I saw her for sale, it was an instant buy. So joining into my small collection of purple haired beauties is none other than Iriya Kana from Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu. Hit the jump to check out the rest of the photos.

Figure Review: Massugu GO! with Amamiya Manami

As the end of the year approaches, my work load at work has been increasing rather dramatically. However, I do manage to squeeze in my free time to bring forth another figure review. Though it’s probably not a review anymore since all the figures I do now have been out for quite a number of months already. Anyway, a long overdue figure that was screaming for a figure photo shoot, and one I had trouble determining a good location, but in the end, it’s back to the indoor shoots. So now I present to you, Amamiya Manami (or Manabi for short) from Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!
