Moé Moé Rabu Business Cards Second Season

Last year I had the idea of creating business cards for Moé Moé Rabu using a collection of photos from my figure photographs. Well having only a few left over it was time to bring out the second season. Using the same service, MOO have again produced some quality cardsfor the same price. Though I only managed to create a collation mid last week I was worried that it wouldn’t arrive before this weekend since Supanova Sydney is on. I was tempted to pay forexpress shipping, but $57 for express shipping for a pack of cards is wellnot worth the price.

My other worry was not having enough decent photos to use for the cards since my photography has slowed down considerably. The only two that I reprinted are Suzumiya Haruhi and Shirakawa Nanaka.Lets hope that by the third set I’ll have more photos to choose from and hopefully my photography skills have improved since then.

Anime Blogger Awards is near~

A little late on the bandwagon for this, but the Anime Blogger Awards nominations are nearly over, in fact nominations end tomorrow. I’ve already nominated some blogs a few weeks ago, but I already forgotten who I nominated for, but I’d like to give thanks to those of you who nominated Moé Moé Rabu for a contender for Best Figurine Blog. Though I don’t see myself having a hell in chance of winning, but it’s all fun and games for this kind of stuff.

Voting will be open to the public from the 25th April till the 1st of June, so it’ll be kind of interesting to see who wins what. Although some categories we can already see definite winners, there are some good competition for some of the other categories. So if you have a blog and haven’t placed in your nominations, then head over to the site and sign up.

Moé Moé Rabu back online

Yep, I somehow broke Moé Moé Rabu’s theme after I was messing around with some plugins but I only made it worse. Have reverted back to the previous theme but since the Summer Sun theme hasn’t been tested on the latest versions of WP, stuff may break. If they do, please let me know at adunATmoemoerabu.net

Ok, I’ve managed to bring the site back online after searching the Net for a number of solutions. The first problem I had was trying to install Cryptographp plug-in, which is a different catchpa solution, but the catchpa image wouldn’t show up here yet it worked fine on the test blog. I’m not entirely sure if it’s something to do with the .htaccess file but it’s more than likely.

Secondly, when I tried to disable the plugin, my customised K2 theme just broke. An issue with the widgets of WP2.0 and how K2 handles it’s widgets. Tried switching to an older theme whilst fixing the other problem of K2, but then eventually came to an issue of the cache screwing up. It’s funny how that happens since I don’t have wp-cache enabled.

Anyway there have been a lot of problems with the site, especially the slow loading and I think Dreamhost has not resolved this issue completely. Like I mentioned before, being on shared hosting sucks. If only I had the money and enough reason to have a dedicated server. If this continues on, I may look at a different webhosting earlier than expected.

Upgrade to WP 2.3.3

Just a small post to note that I’ve upgraded WP from v2.2.1 to v2.3.3. I’ve had a quick scourer of the site and all seems to be working. Any issues that may arise or if you find any issues, please either post a comment here or email me at adunATmoemoerabu.net. Also do people find my site loading slow at times? I think it may be a DreamHost issue or something.

On a separate note, I’m also looking for an alternate anti-spam filter as currently I’m using Spam Karma 2 v2.3 rc1-2 as it seems some commenters have had problems with the catchpa image not showing up. So any suggestions are more than welcome.

Moé Moé Rabu’s One Year Anniversary

Today marks the Moé Moé Rabu as 1 year old!! What something started as simple site to show off merchandise to close friends has grown into something much more, and with a broader range of readers. And without the readers, I probably wouldn’t have come this far, so thanks to the readers and I hope you continue reading my blog.

But I bet some of you are thinking why is it Moé Moé Rabu’s 1st Birthday where the archives contain posts from before then? Well that was under the name of Adunitisity. I consider the real birth of this blog is when I changed the name and it took a different direction. But lets have a look back at some of the posts over the past year:

And last, but not least, the post that has the MOST comments, but also made many people jealous, some thinking I’m insane and wish they had stuff like I do, and probably some people disgusted:

Step into the World of Otakuism (or in short my room)

So a good long year has passed by and I do wonder how long this blog will go. With real life taking it’s toll on the amount of free time I have these days it’s amazing that I can kind of keep up with the new season as it is. But rest assured, I’m not giving up on it just yet. Also I was planning on holding some sort of competition to give away prizes for the anniversary, but alas my free time just went out the window on weekends, plus I didn’t have any good ideas for a competition. But anyway, thanks for reading my blog and I hope you will continue to do so.

Moé Moé Rabu Business Cards

Since the birth of Moé Moé Rabu, heck even since the old days of Adunitisity, the growth of this blog has indeed a somewhat exponential ride. Being a part of aggregators such as AnimeNano and the AnimeBlogger Antenna has indeed lead brought my most of my visitors, there are still those who don’t browse through the depths of the Internet. Over the past few months, I’ve had people ask me the URL to Moé Moé Rabu whenever it came up in our conversation and it becomes difficult for those to scribble it down let alone remember it.

Having attended SMASH last month, Slykura from Madman Entertainment brought up the idea of me getting business cards. Now that wasn’t too bad of an idea. He mentioned the idea of using Flickr and one of their affiliates to produce business cards. So a bit of researching and I came across MOO, which offer a service to print the pictures you upload to Flickr onto cards and various other items. This is what I produced:

moemoerabu v4 goes live

Yep, that’s right, I finally got around to finishing the little things I wanted to do on the new layout. The aim for this new layout was that I wanted something plain and simple. What I’m using here is the K2 theme with a few minor modifications. What they are I can’t even remember as some I did like 2 months ago. Just some new features that I have added include:

  • Polls - because everyone likes to vote in polls
  • View Counter - a simple way for me to track how many times a page has been viewed so I don’t have to search through logs
  • Random banners - Simple banners for now because I suck on the creative side of things. But if you like to make me a banner, that would be awesome. Size is to be 1000×200 px.
  • The site is now optimized for those who are running 1024×768 resolutions. So no more side scrolling!
  • And all the funky shit that comes normally with the K2 theme.

Also hopefully with the new theme, things are a little easier to read. I noticed myself that the text was sometimes hard to read. You may have noticed that I’m using purple as a theme. Well it’s to go with my love for girls with long purple hair. Anyway most of the site is working fine and there’ll be some more changes added once I get to them. The blogroll itself will also be trimmed down as I remove those blogs who are pretty much inactive. So if you find any issues or bugs with the new layout, please leave a comment here.

edit: I also just noticed that this is the 400th post. v4….400… it’s like a new theme once every 100 posts!
