For some reason I highly enjoyed this episode, probably just due to the randomness of things happening as its sort of a break from the rather dull storyline. Firstly was the appearance of Nabeshin as the salesman. I seriously didn’t get why he appeared in a series like this but damn it was funny and random. Nue’s impression of Mifuyu was also a delight and despite her looking like a little doll, she is quite knowledgeable in the adult world and I’m sure that scene would have appealed to Mifuyu fans.

After a disappointing two episodes of Yumina, its good to see we are back on track with the somewhat stagnant story and full of Ameri goodness. Seeing Ameri’s growing jealously over Mashiro and Yuuri’s relationship brought some life back and with Ouryuu leading her almost like her trueself. But I must say that the constant flashback to the same scene did get annoying. Also I notice that whenever Ameri is on screen, they use a lot of slanted panning shots on her which confuses the hell out of me of why they keep using it.

Unfortunately this is the continuation of the Yumina episode and again, not terribly excited since I don’t like Yumina all that much. Maybe it’s just that I don’t like the entirely helpless imouto type and always has that kind of mindset. But I do have to give Yumina some credit at the start of this episode where she comforted a rather depressed Yuuri following the funeral of his mother. Anyway it also came at no surprise that Hou just ran away and then came back to Yumina.

So we’re finally covering the last and probably the least interesting of all the girls in this series, Yumina. Although she plays the “imouto” of the series, I just can’t seem to get to like her as a character at all. Firstly I don’t find her all that cute and she doesn’t really stand out that much compared to say Mashiro, Ameri, or Mifuyu who are much more diverse. Even Nue stands out more than Yumina. But in a way I find it somewhat fitting that one half of the Pheonix tayutai would pick Yumina’s head to sit on. Though at this point it makes no sense why they chose Yumina.

In most series of this type, I usually root for the main heroine, however in Tayutama I found myself oddly attracted to Ameri. It could be because of my infatuation with 2D girls with purple hair, but its most likely her tsundere nature towards Yuuri. Obviously she is quite jealous of the relationship between Yuuri and Mashiro, but she still can’t bring herself to admit that she loves Yuuri as more than a childhood friend. But what I love more is her little spats or tantrums because they can be quite cute at times.

There is only three words needed to describe this episode: panties, tentacles, and lolis. Never did I thought that this series could dulge itself into such things given how cute everything is, but knowing that the main heroine is old fashioned and wants to mate with the main guy I should have known better. Still I was amused at Mashiro’s amazement over the variety of panties that she could chose and would still prefer to go without, and here we have Ameri trying to put some modern day sense into our dear deity.
