Japanese students must have it pretty tough to be going through exams and Valentine’s Day as well. Though it doesn’t surprise me that Naoki pretty much brushed everything off as if the days weren’t that special. Thankfully Kotoko is there to keep his life all that much interesting, as well as supplying us with plenty of laughs. But it was also Kotoko’s influence that made him not take the exam for Tokyo University, yet it seems just like Kotoko to get appendicitis just as Naoki was going for his exam. I really thought it was the chocolate she made.

Now I know this is only an anime, but seeing how stupid everyone in a class can be is kind of ridiculous. I have some friends who were pretty stupid during high school but not to the point of where they couldn’t understand anything of a math problem. And my impression of a Japanese schooling system should be of a pretty high standard in terms of quality to ensure most people can see some kind of logic in the problem. That aside, the stupidity of the class did bring about some laughs. Especially stuff like Jinko’s little outburst and the whole class begging Kotoko to ask Naoki to tutor them.

Its time for summer vacation, but unfortunately for Kotoko, she has supplementary classes. I can only imagine the pain of having to attend school during your holidays since nothing like that happens here in Australia, well as far as I’m aware. Anyway its not all that surprising to see Kotoko and friends, or what seems like almost the entire F-class attending supplementary classes, as it goes how pretty dense some people can be, and it seems Yuuki thought this was a prime time to do his summer vacation diary thingy to cover the epic stupidity of Kotoko.

Even after 3 episodes this series is definitely becoming a favourite for this season as there is plenty of humour, but plenty of development as well. Though I’m surprised to see an event like the sports event so early into the series as I thought they would make some kind of wager during the event or something like that. Still plenty of laughs mainly from all of Kotoko’s reactions and how ironic that her scavenger hunt item was the person she loves. But the best moment would have to go to her crashing into Kin-chan during the relay race.

After watching the first episode, I was pretty impressed by it, but after watching the second episode, I’m sold on it. If anything this episode was much more funnier than the first now that Naoki and Kotoko are living together, but with Naoki being the cold bastard that he is. It really does seem impossible on how the two of them could become a couple as you can plainly see the difference between the two in not just intelligence, but attitude as well. Of course when two opposites clash against each other, it always makes things interesting.

Opening Sequence:
OP: “Kimi, Meguru, Boku” by Hata Motohiro
For some strange reason the opening theme reminds me a bit of Honey & Clover style of music, well more specifically Suneohair. Though it does go well with the overall theme of the series, which is a romance comedy.
