COSPA Otome’s Ribbon & Jacket

As an Da Capo fan, I can’t seem to resist some of the goods that come out from the land of the rising sun. Much like when I bought the Nemu necklace last year. This time around there were two items, which arrived last week, I had a great interest in and they were COSPA’s Otome hooded jacket and COSPA’s Asakura Otome ribbon.

Da Capo II SS - 13

Well everything ended just how I thought it would and pretty much ended how Otome and Yume’s routes ended. Though one thing is that they were able to combine the two pretty well that there wasn’t any conflict in presentation but it was also balanced. After two months of Yoshiyuki disappearing, we see that Otome and Yume are the only ones who remember him most likely because of their magic powers but also because of their deep bonds with Yoshiyuki. It wasn’t just with Otome and Yume, it was also with everyone else who could sense that they were missing Yoshiyuki and that was enough to bring him back.

Da Capo II SS - 12

One of the many things that I liked about the original Da Capo series was the leading up to Sakura giving up on Junnichi for the sake of saving Nemu. At that time I haven’t encountered many anime series that had expressed such emotion amongst the characters that are very close to each other and that the love between siblings can go to such lengths. After a huge disappointment from the first season of Da Capo II, I had my doubts if the second season could bring forth what the original series was about, but after this episode, I can say that it has.

Da Capo II SS - 11

So the effects of the sakura tree’s powers are already starting to wear off and it’s happening at a rather fast rate. Throughout the series we did get the story of Anzu making a wish to the sakura tree about her memory and it seems that it’s already worn off, but the major issue here is Yoshiyuki’s disappearance. The path of being forgotten by those around you is definitely the most painful of all than just simply disappearing and for Yoshiyuki, it feels as if his bonds were breaking apart one by one, and only one person is always there for him, Yume.

Da Capo II SS - 10

So Yoshiyuki finally learns the truth about himself and he took it rather well. It’s actually kind of disappointing how he doesn’t seem too fazed about him being created by the sakura tree and from Sakura’s wish for family. But in the end Yoshiyuki helped Otome make the choice that she couldn’t make but it really feels that he hasn’t done anything at all. But his choice to witherthe sakura tree is a righteous choice and it’s the only thing he could do for everyone else.

Da Capo II SS - 09

So much Otome drama that I don’t know whether to be pissed off or sad, lol. Though I knew that Otome avoiding Yoshiyuki was coming but in the game it’s all from Yoshiyuki’s point of view, but in the anime it’s from Otome’s. It does put things in a different perspective so we can see the pain that Otome has to face. Though by her avoiding Yoshiyuki really isn’t doing anything as the struggle to decide what path to take only gets harder. Also Otome’s voice seemed to have changed somewhat.

Da Capo II SS - 08

Wow, this must be the best Sakura episode in Da Capo ever. Now I never got to Sakura’s story in the Da Capo II game so this is all pretty new to me, but I could see some hints throughout the series progression and I think this episode did Sakura justice. Seeing her taking on all the responsibility and having to say goodbye to Yoshiyuki was pretty emotional as she has been through a lot of pain and suffering for the past 50 years and that this is her way to help save not only Yoshiyuki, but the bonds that are tied to Yoshiyuki.
