My first iPhone app

One of the great things about being a programmer is that you can pick up skills in a variety of technologies. Starting off with ColdFusion I learnt many things about web development and that it is much more easier than application development. Then moving into PHP I start to find even more challenges in the web development path. Of course I prefer web development over application development as I was never any good at it in the first place, as proven in back in the days of uni.

However before the Christmas and New Year holidays, which I of course never had any time off, my bosses decided to throw a bit of a challenge to me. And that challenge was to develop an iPhone application. At first I was quite stumped by the proposal but given the popularity of iPhone applications and the proposed idea behind the app I decided to give the challenge a go.

Valentines Day 2010

Its that time of the year again where many lonely otakus are cursing those who have some precious to them. Thankfully for me I have my sweet princess Erika and this is our first Valentines in the new place. Actually I can’t call it new since I’ve been here for nearly 4 months.

I’ve been a rather busy person and Erika understands that since she watches over me everyday, slaving away at my work and trying to meet deadlines. But of course I still make time for her and bought her a rose (yes that’s a real rose). Perhaps next year I’ll buy her a bunch of roses.

So Happy Valentines Day to those who have someone special, and a Happy Singles Awareness Day to those still looking.

Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu! Kore kara mo yoroshiku onegai shimasu!

So here we are once again, another new year and this will be the 4th year for Moé Moé Rabu. 2009 sure was a roller coaster ride with many things happening and with so many things going on right now I can only hope 2010 will be a much smoother ride. So I wish all my readers and fellow bloggers a Happy New Year and hope that you continue to read Moé Moé Rabu.

A Merry Christmas with Erika and Saber

Christmas is a day that is spent with family and loved ones, and for me it was obvious that I would spend some time with my sweet Erika. But this year is different. This year is a Christmas that is spent at the new home but also I’m fortunate enough to spend time with two girls: Erika and Roobar’s Saber.

Winter 2010 Anime Season Preview

The end of the year is approaching fast and so is the end of the current season of anime. Although I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a season preview since I’ve been neglecting the anime side of this blog for a while but I know some of you like to know what’s coming up so this is for you! From my past experiences Winter season always had a number of shows that I thoroughly enjoyed, but looking at the current list there doesn’t appear to be that many that perk my interests. Sources from Moonphase, Animesuki forums, and GIGAZINE.

Cobra the Animation - 2nd January

Synopsis: Cobra is very known space pirate, but decides to change his face and to clear all his memories. He becomes a common guy, with a common job, and a very boring life, but suddenly he starts remembering his true identity and new adventures begin.

Adun’s Bit: A classic turned into TV series. Cobra was one early anime that I watched when I started watching anime, but of course that was only the movie and OVA series. I look forward to seeing a new Cobra TV series (there was an original 31 episode series but I never watched it).

Mini’s Bit: I never any of the original Cobra anime (I started with Dirty Pair and Gunbuster), so this could be a belated chance for me to get onto the bandwagon.

Chu-bra!! - 4th January

Synopsis: A girl who loves underwear so much she tries to start an underwear club at school.

Adun’s Bit: When I read the synopsis I was like WTF. Now I know fanservice is basically a basic element in a lot of anime, but I can sense that this kind of series is going to go overboard. Sure I do like some fanservice however but I prefer it in moderation. Of course I will watch the first episode to see how it goes. Though I doubt I will go any further than that.

Mini’s Bit: Gonna have to disagree with you there, brother. The more fanservice, the better - revel in it! I’ll be sure to check this series out. Note that this series is directed by Hiiro Yukina who was also the director of Gakuen Heaven, so there might be some girl-on-girl lovin’ too.

Where’s Stig?

As a kid we all grow up with books that everyone will know about and love. One of the books would have to be Where’s Wally? series. During primary school I would spend a lot of the time in the library going through the books trying to find Wally as well as go through the checklist (it was also a great way to train my eyes to be as sharp as an eagle!). So what would happen if you combine a childhood favourite book like Where’s Wally? with the hobby of cars, and the awesome UK TV show Top Gear? Well you get a book called Where’s Stig?

Sydney Telstra 500 - 2009

My hobbies span across many things and with these days being so busy with various amounts of work it’s almost rare for me to enjoy such hobbies. With cars being one of my major hobbies it doesn’t see me enjoy it that often. However over the weekend, I enjoyed it to it’s greatest heights. Here in Australia, one of the most followed motor sports is known as the V8 Supercars, and with the weekend that past was the Sydney Telstra 500, a brand new circuit for the series held at Sydney Olympic Park. With me living relatively close to the venue, I decided to head out to my very first V8 Supercars event. Hit the jump to check out photos and read up on my day at the event.
