Akemashite omedeto gozaimasu! Kore kara mo yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
Time really does fly by so quickly these days as we’re already now in the New year and it’s the 5th New Year that Moé Moé Rabu has experienced. Looking back over the year it has been a somewhat of an uneasy year and that’s reflected in the lack of posts as well. I guess in a way 2010 has been one of those lackluster years in my life I’m steadily heading into my late 20′s. So let’s reflect on a few things that have happened over the past year shall we?
Well the first thing that you all may have noticed is the lack of loot post. Well I can safely say that I have pretty much cut down on the random purchasing severely. No more large orders of figures or random anime merchandise. Though of course I still purchase figures on occasion and I would say my purchases in manga have increased this year. Not to mention that my hobby is pretty much focused on Dollfie Dreams. I have a very big goal for them which I shall write a post about later in the future.
So of you may know that last year I moved in with good friend Roobar, and with an otaku kingdom that was beyond my imagination, it was a good solid 7-8 months. However in May I moved in with my sister as she finally bought her own place. The transition of living in one place to another was tough at first, especially the traveling to work, but I’ve adjusted and it’s pretty sweet. Except for the 3 flight of stairs I have to walk up and down now.
Being a tech savvy web developer I thought I had finally scored it big in the role that I was working in. A PHP developer was what I was expecting as well as the chance to see what it is like in a larger company. However this year has proven to a major let down in this area. Though considering that I came into this role with no commercial PHP experience I managed to develop my PHP skills fairly quickly, the role just couldn’t take me to that next level. This would be the lowest point of 2010 for me. But I do admit that learning iPhone development during my time there was an invaluable experience. Still that is now all past me and I look forward to my new role in the new year.
Now I’m a person who likes to experience many new things and by being stuck in Australia all the time doesn’t allow for that, and going to Japan for a holiday all the time isn’t all that interesting. This year however was different as I finally got to go to Hong Kong after 12 years and go to Singapore for the very first time. During my trip to these countries, as well as a stop in Japan, I learnt many new things about people, their lifestyle and their culture. You can read about my Hong Kong coverage for Days 1-3 here and Days 4-6 here. Look forward to my coverage of Japan and Singapore later.
I have always thought of Moé Moé Rabu being a personal blog, but that changed with the introduction of Mini in 2009. This year the family has grown with the introduction of MrOptic. Although he hasn’t done any other post since he joined I hope the new year will show differently.
Photography will always be a great hobby of mine. But having stuck with a Canon 400D for close to 4 years it was time for an upgrade. I finally took the plunge and got myself a Canon 7D. However despite getting a new camera my skills are quite lacking and I don’t think I can get any better. Still it’s nice to finally have a decent camera to use and 2011 will be a good year to do some more photography.
Well that covers the main points of 2010 for me. It is kind of amazing to also think that we’re finishing off a decade and now entering a new one for the 21st Century. To think that 10 years ago I was entering my final years of high school and having gone through many hardships as well as many good times such as university, traveling overseas, experiencing full time work and its difficulties, meeting many great people as well as losing them, it makes me wonder what will experienced over the next 10 years. Still in 10 years I don’t think Moé Moé Rabu will still be around but wouldn’t that be something if it did?
So for all my good readers as well as bloggers, I hope you had a great 2010 as well as a great time during the Noughties. So have a Happy New Year and I hope you continue to read Moé Moé Rabu.
