In a few days’ time I’ll be flying to Japan, to partake in the gruelling festival that is Comic Market 76. There’s a few things I still have to buy, and of course packing hasn’t started yet, but I’m mostly set.
This time around I’ll be having a walk around Shibuya; I didn’t get a chance to do this last time in 2007. Admittedly part of that cause was spending too much time gawking at things in Akihabara.
Of course, I have my marching orders from Adun to find Hinagiku/Tsumugi/Aria/Miku-related doujinshi and goods. This shouldn’t prove to be much of a problem money-wise thanks to the exchange rate remaining high - certainly not as good as the halcyon days of greater-than-parity but at least it isn’t languishing near the 60-cent mark.
I have a ridiculous number of circles’ tables in my Comic Market lists for all three days. I won’t have time to visit them all, especially on Day 1 since it’ll come after visits to the commercial booths, but I do want to make the effort to visit a lot of the more obscure circles. Pixiv has been a real boon with regards to finding these prospective gems.
And then there’s this Dollfie craze that’s been doing the rounds…
