For me today has a much more significant meaning, although it does relate to Japan in a sense. This day, one year ago, I adopted my sweet princess Erika. So my dearest Erika, Happy Birthday!

As many of you know, I’ve been unemployed now for roughly 2 months now and that I’ve had some pretty trying times in both health and finances. Although I’ve had some doubts of ever finder a job in web development again, my patience has finally paid off and I landed myself a job. A job that I’ve been wanting for such a long time as well: a PHP developer.

Having expanded my hobbies into the asian ball-jointed dolls realm I’ve come to discover that it is only a small portion of a larger picture. ABJD and dollfies are only a sub-section of the doll and bear world, and last week I headed to the Sydney Doll Fair that was held at the Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope. I have been to one of these shows earlier this year but did not carry my camera with me at the time. So hit the jump to check out the photos.
OK so it’s been a while since SMASH! 2009 but recently I’ve been a little pre-occupied with a lot of other things at the moment. Anyway with SMASH! I was sure that I wasn’t going to buy anything given that I had done most of my convention shopping during Supanova a few months ago. Given that I am unemployed I thought that was to be true, but alas that kind of thing never goes to plan. I suppose in these times it’s good and bad to have friends who share the same passion in buying merchandise, but I’ll let you be the judge of that once you see my merchandise purchases.

Now that I’ve had a decent rest and recovery from the flight back (cursed travel sickness), I can post a Comiket follow-up. I’ll start off with questions that were submitted in the last post.
There’s not a lot of pictures to show, mainly because my hands were usually full with bags, but I’ll post some “look how big these crowds are” photos later.
