I… I forgot what I was going to write for this blog entry!
With the advent of the new year comes… the hunt for fresh blood. *dun dun dun*
Silly onee-chan, that’s not a Vulcan Neck Pinch works
Also with the new year comes some new faces. Ui isn’t exactly new to the scene but now that she’s going to the same school as her big sister, Yui won’t be looking so scruffy in the mornings. Not that I can tell, but at least I can be grateful for sweet tidbits like sisterly hair-brushing. There’s also the matter of a twin-tailed girl by the name of Azusa lurking around.
“This pamphlet needs more impact. How about an picture of Mio’s stage accident?” “Noooo!”
Since the light music club didn’t have much of a plan for attracting new members right at the start, they’re forced to rely on Sawako’s ideas, with varying degrees of success. The animal costumes were somewhat terrifying, but the maid uniform were a stroke of genius.
Yui and company’s efforts to entice Ui’s friend to sign up also meet with varying degrees of success. Turns out that it’s pretty hard to play rock band instruments (except the keyboard) while dressed in maid uniforms, which is a horrible loss to fandom. I’ll take what I can get anyway. I also got a kick out of how Ui did that cute tilting-head-slightly action when she saw Azusa avoiding her gaze.
Some things change, some things stay the same. Yui has more motivation now that she’s an active part of something, but she still has a hankering for ice-cream. Also it appears that Yui can do a good impression of the God Emperor Leto Atreides II.
Mio still gets stage-fright before live performances; Yui still has her head in the clouds. Another highlight of this episode was Tsumugi and Yui tag-team-teasing Mio, with moériffic results.
Front girls singing up a storm
The live performance brought in a respectable crowd, and not only did Yui get to do a bunch of vocals but she also had a chance to show off her MC-ing skills. As for Yui “accidentally” forgetting her lyrics and forcing Mio to step in, I do have to wonder.
Cute newbee, sending ISK
As a recruiting tool, the live performance wasn’t a smashing success but it was good enough to entice Azusa to step through the door. And one more makes five. Not having read past this point in the manga, I have no idea what her personality will be like. I just hope she isn’t an arrogant tsundere.
Ritsu pounces, much to Tsumugi’s delight
Editorial: So what did you guys think of the Star Trek movie? I’ve watched it twice, and could do with a few more times.
A maid Ritsu, for me? Thanks Ui, you’re a star.
