Ah the Valentine’s Day arc, this is one to remember as this was when Hinagiku and Ayumu met for the first time. I think the two make great friends despite their different statuses in society as it seems that they understand each other, and that they’re not picked on by the other trio council members. However I think it was Hinagiku who made the effort to help out and befriend Ayumu since she’s the more confident one and cool one, and just as Izum said, it’s why she gets Valentine’s chocolate from girls.
Still this is also another part where we see Hinagiku’s developing feelings for Hayate. The idea of her giving chocolate on Valentine’s Day as well as her tsutsun attitude when Ayumu reveals that it is Hayate that she has feeilings for. But we’re still a long way till we see her come to terms of it. Though it’s something I certainly look forward to in this season. On another note, Ayumu has finally taken a step forward with her feelings for Hayate but it’s a shame it won’t go any further than this for a while.
The other side of the coin this episode was Maria. I think it’s humorous when Maria starts going into her self doubting mode about her age, how she lacks experience/enriched youthful life. But it does bring an interesting development between Maria and Hayate since both are similar in age and that Hayate could be the one to give her that enrichment she wants. However there won’t be anything between the two since Hayate considers Maria an adult anyway. But there definitely is a competition between the two and when I saw what Hayate had created I bursted out laughing, only to see what Maria created and laughed even more.
Next episode seems to be the one where Hayate sees Nagi naked and gets kicked out for the night. Which means only one thing. And I look forward to that.
