OP: “Wonder Wind” by ELISA
Managing my way through the new season episodes still, next on my plate was the anticipated second season of Hayate no Gotoku. Same seiyuu cast, but different production studio had certainly meant a few changes and from this first episode so far, its looking alright. With J.C. Staff taking over, I was wondering if they could still retain the same flow that SynergySP had brought us. But after this first episode, I think they lack something. Its probably the references and censoring of words etc.

Impressions
But this is still the same series that I loved every bit of back in 2007 and what’s better is the Hinagiku ED sequence. Also judging from the scenes in the OP sequence we’ll be seeing some more Hayate x Hinagiku scenes that is covered in Volume 10 of the manga. If that is the case they might as well rename the series to Hinagiku no Gotoku, or just have a complete Hinagiku spin-off series. I’m also guessing we’ll see a bit more about the Katsura sister’s background.
A good choice of using the marathon as the first episode as we get reintroduced to all the usual characters, but also introduces them for any new viewers. Animation wise compared to the first season is clearly visible but I can never find the words to describe them. But I’m sure my eyes will adjust and forget about it. I was hoping for another KOTOKO OP theme as I really liked the previous two that I actually bought the singles. Another was that I was expecting eyecatches again but I guess J.C. Staff have their own style of doing things.
Anyway I’ll continue blogging Hayate no Gotoku!! and I’m guessing that this second season will be significantly shorter than the first. Perhaps 13 episodes. Anyway I look forward to more of just Hayate no Gotoku, but looking forward to more Hinagiku.

I too am loving Hayate, but my most favorite character is still Tama the tiger, he’s just too funny!:P
Riiana Doon’s last blog post..Merry Christmas everyone!:D
More Hina has to be good ne?
There was definitely a lack of puns and references in the first episode but it got a little better in the second episode. Nevertheless, I still enjoy Hayate no Gotoku very much. But I have to admit that the first season had better animation at least.

Sorry, I definitely prefer the approach of the second season. Random zany but completely unconnected episodes from S1 are not sufficient for me. It really annoyed me to the end - it’s like having to eat candy every week. Just look at yourself - you obviously didn’t quite finish S1 either ^_^;
S2 will stick true to the manga, which means a bit less craziness, but CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It means that what happened last episode will still matter in the next. And we’ll finally getting to the more meaningful (and yes, more serious) parts of the show, too.
Less flashy, but way more satisfying and lasting.
I actually did finish S1 in it’s entirety. Of course sticking to the manga is always good, but I do like things coming left of center to just mix it up a bit.
