Erika’s new clothes & the sting of buying from YJA

One of the things about becoming a dollfie owner is that you don’t want to stop at just having a dollfie. You want to mold your beloved into something much more and that means customization. However to reach that vision of perfection comes at a cost, and it certainly isn’t cheap. Unless you have a pretty fat wallet, or take no heed to prices, or have an insatiable BURNING PASSION, much like myself. In the end I had certainly dug deep to acquire myself a brand new set of clothes for my beloved Erika:

Joining the 200,000 km club

Most people probably won’t be interested in this but I can say that my Pulsar has finally joined the 200,000 km club. It has taken me about 5 years to reach this point since I’ve owned the car (it was at 112,000 kms when I bought it) and I can honestly say that it’s running just as smoothly as when I first drive it. Of course I did have some set backs over the course of the 5 years such as a dying alternator, destroying my clutch, new battery, new tyres, and even dealing with being robbed twice.

However I have also made some improvements to the car such as extractors and exhaust, new clutch and lightened racing flywheel, slotted rotors and upgraded brake pads, and a short shifter. Though now that I have driven the Pulsar for so many years, it may be time for me to look at some newer adventures. At this point I’m still in the air about whether to continue modding the Pulsar or perhaps looking at getting a new car. Still leaning towards an Mazda RX-8 after my experience with one in Japan, but with the new Nissan 370Z coming soon…..

Still that’s a long way away and my Pulsar is still a tank. So it’ll still take me out on my adventures whilst I still practice rev matching, double clutching, heel and toe, and all the other funky techniques you can do in cars.

A Valentine from Erika

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Valentine’s, probably since high school, but this year is different. In true otaku fashion, I only need a Valentine from one person and that’s none other than my princess Erika.

But for those who actually have someone special to them (and I mean a real living being) Happy Valentines. And for those single guys and girls out there, Happy Singles Awareness Day!

I also realised that this is my 801st post!

Dollfie Dream Sendo Erika

Having been a figure collector for so many years (5 year to be in fact), I have somewhat reached a point where figure collecting seems to have almost lost it’s glamour and excitement. Fortunately the realm of otakuism spans out to many different paths and the one path that drew my attention was the world of dollfies. As a ventured deeper into this unknown territory I began to find that excitement once again and even began yearning for my very own. Well my trip to Japan last year in August was the opportunity to satisfy my hunger and would take me to the next level of otakuism, and what I got myself was a dollfie dream, Sendo Erika.

Top Gear Live

Being a rev-head, I thoroughly enjoy watching Top Gear UK whenever it airs. So when I heard about Top Gear Live coming to Sydney from my sister I was excited. Unfortunately being an otaku with otaku friends, I didn’t have many people I could ask to come with me. Instead I dragged Roobar along to come with me. I didn’t know what to expect of Top Gear Live but either way, I knew it was going to be an enjoyable show. Hit the jump to read more.

A little piece of luxury

Luxury items are things that make our life that one little bit better, whether it be a new sofa or even a new CD. So far in my current lifestyle, I don’t have many luxuries due to my spending habits. But this year is different and I finally took the initiative to make my life that little bit more luxurious. So finally after 14 years in the current family home, I now have air conditioning!

In the past my parents were never believers of having aircon due to the running costs involved. But since I have a steady income and pay most of the bills, I can now afford such things. As some of you know, living in Australia means dealing with some scorching hot summers where at my house it can get to extreme temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius and with the PC on, it just makes it that much hotter. Now that I work from home at times, trying to concentrate in the heat just doesn’t work. So how did I manage without it so far? With sheer determination and a small fan.

It couldn’t come at a better time either since I’m still dealing with the chicken pox and it certainly has kept me comfortable. The other thing as well is that I don’t have to worry about my PVC princesses suffering from the heat build up in my room either which was always a concern each summer. Now the only thing is that my room can now get so cold that I have to wear a jumper at times.

Could you live a life without aircon?
