Figure Review: Be seduced by this Succubus
It has been a long 7 days but I have finally reached the end. No.7 of the 7 figures over 7 days series and it certainly has been quite a challenge to me as well. Not to mention I’ve lost a few good hours of sleep in the last two days. So let’s end this series with another quality figure brought to us by Good Smile Company, and is probably my best photo shoot for this whole series. So hit the jump to check out more photos of Mabinogi’s Succubus.
Although I follow the path of all things cute and moé, I do like a bit of variety in my diet and occasionally pick up a more mature, more sexy type of figure. The last figure like that would have been Fasalina so it certainly has been a while since I bought one. However I ordered this knowing that it would be a great figure knowing that GSC had released Mabinogi’s Nao before. Nao was cute and the translucency of her dress made her pretty sexy. But with this Succubus, she certain takes the cake when it comes to sexyness.
Black is always such a sexy colour that is quite alluring, mysterious and pretty much goes with anything. Her costume itself seems to be quite a mixture with bat wings, a hat with flappy puppy dog ears, a tight corset with a translucent skirt to boot. Now that I think about it, this is pretty close to Horuichi Sana, but Succubus is clearly the one to go for.
For a figure like this, only having the skirt removable would be boring, simply because it would be like any other figure out there. The translucent skirt is one factor that gives this figure the cutting edge, but I would have to say it’s the 2nd skirt that comes as an accessory that makes this figure really special. It’s a torn version of the translucent dress which I personally find looks much better than the normal version.
Sexyness comes in many different packages and it’s up to the beholder to see whether they find something sexy or not. For me, this is like a complete set. Slender body, large eyes, sexy attire, zettai ryouiki, and the character to pull all of this together to bring us something that is spell bounding and mesmerizing. I think I just found myself a new level of sexyness in my collection.

I’ve mentioned before that GSC is like the god of the gods of figure production in the Corti review. They have once again proven that point with this Succubus figure. There really is no reason to not get this figure at all as it encompasses a lot of things that you look for in a figure. However the only qualms I have is that her butt is a little pale and that the base is a hideous flat pale yellowish white colour. You know what they should do with figures, make them come with a complete clear base like ones shown in promo pictures. That way when looking from afar it looks like they’re standing on their own. Anyway it’s great addition for any figure collector.
So this takes me to the end of the 7 figures over 7 days series. This will be my last post before heading off to Japan, so the next post will be when I’m in Japan and once I figure out my surroundings at the hotel. So until then, look forward to the EPIC TRIP coverage!
Since I have very little coloured cardboard I was stumped at what to use for this Succubus. So I tried something I’ve seen other people do and that is used the cardboard inserts that come with the figure. The results turned out MUCH better than I had anticipated so I may look at doing the same thing with future figures. Not to mention it saves me a few dollars from buying cardboard. Though the one difficult thing is getting a full body shot since the backdrop is limited in size. Also the same as usual, only two lights with aperture of F14-16 at 1/3-1/4 sec shutter speed. Very little editing in Photoshop.
