Figure Review: ARIA Punit cuteness
Wow, No.6 of the 7 figures in 7 days series. I really can’t believe that I’ve made it this far, but one thing for sure, I’ve lost some sleep over the past few days, lol. Since we’re drawing close towards the end of the 7 days I figured I should at least do a group one together. It also means I can slash through the pile in another big hit. Many of you have probably been missing ARIA ever since it finished. But fear not for I shall now present to you MegaHouse’s ARIA Punit Collection.
Over the years I’ve seen Punit figures released but they never really appealed to me all that much. But once I saw that there was going to be an ARIA line of Punit figures I just couldn’t resist. Not only that, it allows for my ARIA collection to grow once again. When they first arrived I had a peek inside the box and thought they were pretty cute. Then straight onto the pile. So now that they are out of the box I can definitely say they are VERY cute.
With the Punit collection, I would have to say that they are more dolls than figures. The fact that they use real clothes and have movable arms (well to an extent) they’re definitely more doll-like than figures. However there is a problem with this. The fact that the clothes are made out of fabric means that they’re not easy to straighten out. The hat being made of fabric as well is the worst part. When looking at the promo pictures, the hats sit on their heads perfectly. But really, they don’t even fit. So pretty much they just sit on top of thei heads looking awkward.
Out of all the 4, Aika is probably the only that looks pretty ugly. Perhaps its the eyes that make it seems that way or perhaps its because this is the twintail version? They should have gone with the short hair version of Aika as I’m sure it would look MUCH better. Akari, Alice, and Alicia are just so awesome but Akari definitely reigns supreme.
And of course we have to have a group photo of them together. Though it does feel kind of lonely without Akira and Athena. Perhaps Megahouse will look to releasing them at a later date though I’m not sure whether Akira or Athena fit the whole “cute” look like these four. Well one can only wait and hope.

At first I was rather hesitant at first to order these Punit collection dolls as they’re quite small, and come with a pretty hefty price tag. ¥5,700 doesn’t sound like a lot of money compared to the amount I spend on just one figure, but I guess it’s just the size comparison. But I do admit, they are actually quite good, if you’re into the whole chibi cute look to figures or dolls. But I don’t think Megahouse thought much about how the clothes and hats are handled as mentioned before, the hats literally don’t sit on their heads.Though if I had a choice and I was strapped for cash, I would probably only got Akari as she is the best looking one out of them all.
Not much to say since I took these photos relatively quickly. Though photographing dolls is different to figures especially since dolls wear fabrics, which can cause reflections from the source lighting. But at least in these photos you can’t see them all that much.
