Over the years of anime merchandise spending, I’m usually careful in not buying two of the same item. Although Konata has taught us that we should buy three of the same thing, one to actually handle with, one to look at, and one to keep as a collector’s item I still wouldn’t go to those extremes. My friend Roobar always states that having two of the one item means you can hold one in each hand. Normally I would laugh that off, but this time, I fully understand what he means.

These nendoroid Hatsune Miku’s pretty much went like hotcakes when they were first released and since I’ve been lazu in the past few months to check what comes out on preorder I got Roobar to order these for me. It’s always nice to have someone on top of things for me (but really he just wants me to spend more money, lol). Since we missed out on the HLJ batches, we ordered from CDJapan and these actually arrived a few weeks ago.
Now I’m not going to bother doing a full photo shoot since I’m lazy. BUT now that I have the Canon IXUS 960IS back in my hands, it’s time to do some quick test photo shoots. And since I have some Miku’s about…

Because the Canon IXUS shoots at 12 megapixels the resolution size are different to the DSLR and me being me, I’m too lazy to resize them properly. Photos taken in macro mode with Image Stabalizer switched on (I actually don’t know how to turn it off, lol) and the crappy lighting I setup with my desklamp, but I do say picture quality wise is close on par with the 400D with the macro lens with the exception that I can’t control the depth of field. Controlling the focus points is somewhat of a challenge due to auto face detection but I managed somehow. And all of this without reading the manual!
So now one Miku sits on my desk on top of my router. Of course its the leek version since it brings me laughter when I look at it, and the other Miku sits in the cabinet. Though with Summer Wonderfest 2008 not too far away my Miku nendoroid collection will only grow since I’ll be buying more, and whatever else my friends get. I plan to have a Miku displaying with each of the different faces. But what I really want is a Miku holding two leeks. DUAL LEEK POWER!
Oh and for those wondering, you can buy the same Hatsune Miku tshirt from JList.com.

U know what, I never really got into the hype of mikuism. I know she’s cute and all with the leek etc. etc. but it wasn’t for me. Over the months as her fanbase kept growing, I found myself being dragged in as one of them and before I knew it, I was digging up almost any merchandise I could find on miku.
The nendo cute but considering they are gone in a blink of an eye, I’m waiting for the figma version. ^^

I totally agreed with the Konata idea.

but it’s Miku! having two is still not enough
and the quality is more like similar to non macro 18-55 lens on my DSLR, far less than macro =\

I think you’re craaazzzzyyyy~~~ *listening to Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy at the moment =P*
Either way, nice buy(s). Unfortunately I can’t stand Miku’s voice =|
Optic: Fr me it’s mainly the whole cuteness thing that made me a Miku fan. Although I do enjoy watching a Miku made video on youtube now and then.
Rin: You’ll have another one soon enough!
ron~:The quality is on the basis of having the camera set to auto. Although you won’t get anything as good as a macro lens itself it does take macro photos well within a limitation of control.
Hiji: How could you not stand her voice. In some instances it has been done really well.
I’ve seen this character here and there on forums and such but never knew where she came from or what anime or videogame shes from. She’s cute though. (:
I do have a habit of buying two of items I really like though. In Akihabara, they have Touhou figure keychains. So far thats the only time I’ve seen a figure at all of a Touhou character. I’ll usually buy two if I like the character even though I know I’d never have the guts to actually use one of these in public.
Nice pix. I’ve held off buying the nendoroid for a while now because I’m anticipating the figma Miku. I kind of regret not having ordered a nendoroid now though. I got that shirt in the mail just a couple days ago myself! Well as I’ve been adding links to my blogroll like crazy I’ll put yours up now ^^

jyuichi’s last blog post..Yuiko is so cute….
Too high in most instances, cold, and lifeless/emotionless. Fundamental flaw in a vocal synthesizer, but before anyone argues otherwise, personal preference =/.
Waii~ so cute~!
And I like how her hair is just long enough to support her (I imagine she’d fall over otherwise x3;;)
Her singing pose is so cute too (-^o^)/~
