OP: “STRIKE WITCHES” by Ishida Yoko
A lot of action scenes in the OP sequence, as to be expected of a series that surrounds itself with action. Most of the scenes seem pretty similar to what was seen in this first episode so lets hope that this isn’t as far as Gonzo will go.

Impressions
So many fetishes all in one package. Lolis, animal ears and tails, magical girls, swimsuits, guns, and military arsenal, though I’m sure we’ll probably see more as the series progresses, lol. Despite all these things why aren’t I too excited about this series? Well firstly I’m not that much of a fan of the mecha-musume genre and I guess I’m also expecting it to be something like what we saw in the OVA. I would even say that this write up will be short as I really don’t have much to say about it. Although this is the first episode after all it’s a little too early to talk down on this series, it certainly does show promise to be quite an awesome series. Yet I’m not holding my breath just yet simply because this is another Gonzo work, but I hope for the sake of my Sister Princess loving twin that it doesn’t.
One thing that has caught my attention is the large cast of characters along with some well known seiyuus to match with them. I’m not entirely sure how long Strike Witches is planned for but if it’s 13 episodes, it’s surely gonna be a tough feat to develop their characters. However it’ll most like go down the path of grouping characters together. At this point Strike Witches hasn’t really caught my attention all that much but I’m willing to continue watching to see how things play out. I actually didn’t watch past 2 episodes of Sky Girls so I might as well give this one a chance.Oh and one last thing, why don’t they wear pants/skirts? Not that it’s a bad thing but it still boggles my mind.

ED: “Bukkumaaku A・Heddo” by Fukuen Misato, Chiba Saeko, Nazuka Kaori, Sawashiro Miyuki, Tanaka Rie, Sonozaki Mie, Nogawa Sakura, Saito Chiwa, Koshimizu Ami, Kadowaki Mai, & Nakai Erika
Not sure if this is the correct info for the song as I pulled it from ANN. Still that’s quite a large cast for one song, but I tend to like group songs.

Amisuke voicing the moe version of Chuck Yeager? Sold.
Shin’s last blog post..Code Geass R2 Turn 13: Good Night, Sweet Princess 。・゚(ノД`)゚・。
I’m still waiting on a decent sub group for this series.
OP sang by Ishida Yoko. Love her voice. ^^

The reason for pantslessness still eludes me, however.

“why don’t they wear pants/skirts?”
Britannia must have passed a new law that prohibits lolis from wearing pants… for their safety…
As far as I remember a few years ago Strike Witches is just an original PVC figure collection.I’m sure crush the technical superior enemy with Loli and Moe will excite a lot of Otakus.Anyway an Airborne Laser which could slice a destroyer in one shoot won’t come to reality in near future lol
Too much like Sky Girls I have to say.
A lot of characters are a like to them.
Still, it is a pretty good anime.
Rin’s last blog post..Comic 3 Planning and other things…
I’ve seen Sky Girls and thought it was very decent. I don’t know if this show will beat it. Magic and mecha seem like a strange combination. Oh well.
My favourite character is the main character’s friend. Yeah, I always have a thing for characters with no screen time ^_^;.
M12’s last blog post..Take that!
EvilDevil: All Hail Britannia!
Sheesh. Now is where I prove myself the nerd by answering questions.
Optic, since the show is being simultaneously distributed in the US and Japan, conscientious fansub groups won’t be touching it. So far as I know no one is doing it, because you can buy it from CrunchyRoll and BOST. (I’ve been downloading it from CrunchyRoll, myself.)
Zeroblade, there’s no good explanation for the lack of pants. The reason seems to be that they inherited that from the person who originally designed the character art for the toy line. Gonzo was stuck with that, and decided to run with it even though it’s absurd. (It ain’t just Britannia; it’s in Japan, too.)
M12, probably we won’t be seeing Michiko again. She stayed in Japan and the rest of the series is placed in Britannia. (Maybe she’ll appear in a flashback.)
Everyone, just thought I’d mention that they toned the fan service down a lot for the second episode.
