OP: “Fly Away” by THYME
I fund it very surprising that THYME sung the OP theme as their songs tend to be quite catchy e.g. “forever we can make it” from To Love-Ru. It certainly has a different feel to the first series in many ways but seeing how this is a newer series, having a more upbeat song fits quite well. Think of it as a new beginning, and we all like happy beginnings. Well only in the slice of life kind of fashion.

Impressions
This is the series that I was looking forward to for this Spring season of anime and it’s actually quite awesome that it airs at the start of the season. Now it’s been years since I watched the first Someday’s Dreamer since I bought it WAY back it got released on DVD so I can barely remember most of the story. But with this new series it doesn’t matter all that much. In some ways being completely different to the first series can work well, like how Futakoi Alternative was much more better than it’s predecessor. I knew it was different within the first few minutes of the episode as the animation itself had caught me off guard. At first I had thought they were using real photographs as backgrounds but upon a closer inspection and other various backgrounds, I realised that they are actually drawn. The quality is definite up there as it was like watching a film. Do I even dare say that this could rival ARIA in terms of scenary porn?
With this being the first episode, it was pretty slow to start off with, but I expected that from a slice of life series. We don’t actually learn much about the characters themselves but it the highlight was definitely seeing Sora use her magic for her friend Michiru. One other interesting point was how Sora wanted to tell her father about her good news, but she ended up at a large tree instead. I’m sure we’ll learn more about Sora as the series progresses. Speaking of Sora, Hanazawa Kana is the seiyuu and rather amusing how she is also the seiyuu for Kajiwara Sora from Sketchbook, but she certainly does a great job as the main character. But at least here she has more lines.
Even though this entire first episode had not much happening I’m still expecting great things knowing that HAL Film Maker is behind all of this. The basisof the story is good, where a young girl from Hokkaido is going to Tokyo is a HUGE jump in many things and I’m sure we’ll get to experience all the things that Sora will experience. A definite watch for this season but I still have to see how I go if I want to blog this or not.

ED: “Kawaita Hana” by micc
The ED theme is quite the opposite from the OP theme but definitely fitting for this series. It;s kind of funny because in the first series, the OP and ED are the opposites of this new series. I also quite liked the small sequence of someone actually singing to the words of the ED theme.

I’m dying to watch this but I promised Impz that I wouldn’t until WhiteLight subs it ;____;
blissmo’s last blog post..Toshokan Sensou: The Beginning of the End Fails
Already on my watchlist. Might wait for a few more episodes released first before getting into it.
The most anticipated series I’m looking forward to is Strike Witches. ^^
Optic’s last blog post..Music Mondays ~ KOTOKO - BLAZE
blissmo: That’s a rather strange promise to make.
Optic: Well if you’re a fan of the slice of life series, watching one episode a week is the way to go. I don’t think I would want to watch it all in one go.
@Adun
Yes, I use to do that before my work schedule got a bit hectic. I tried to balance the load between anime, work and life so I usually wait for the whole series to be completed and watch 2 eps. per a day, weekly until its finished. That way, I can catch up on previous series in my backlog and ongoing series that I’m currently interested where I can’t wait. In addition, I’m a huge fan of slice of life series. ^_^

Have to say, utterly amazed at the work put into the background for this series. Animation is simple, but it fits (and smoother imo). Most definitely looking forward to the rest.
