OP: “Guilty Pleasure” by BECCA
I’m actually a little surprised that an English song is used for the opening theme as well as the ending theme. Though with dark themed anime series it usually goes well with it, for example Ergo Proxy.The OP sequence and the ED sequence aren’t anything too flashy nor does it give any indication on the direction the series is going in.

Impressions
Do forgive me as the raw that I got for this was pretty bad, and majority of the episode was dark. Heck even I couldn’t pick things out from just watching it. So kicking off the summer season is Ultraviolet: Code044 and it’s one of the series that I had listed. When I read up about this series I thought it would be pretty dark and GITS like. Instead I got something much much less than that. Most of the parts after the OP sequence were pretty slow to start off with and showing small portions of what appears to be 044 as a young child. After that 044 is assigned a mission, gets a checkup, goes to location, lie waiting in bed, gets attacked but ends up killing her attackers.
My mind started to wonder off after about 8 minutes into the episode as I started to get pretty bored. Usually that’s not a good sign for me. The art style reminds me of Golgo13, but with a female lead that talks a lot more minus the sex before assassination. This is a Mad House production but I can’t really see it here. However I’m willing to place that on the only raw that got released so I probably would have thought otherwise. The other thing is that this series seems a little too futuristic to have vampires. Either way I’ll most likely not continue watching this since I’m not too impressed with the this first episode.

The (American) movie was pretty awful, not surprised that the anime sucks too. I am not sure why they bothered making an anime x_X;

Seriously though, super soldier clone woman given power by virus in exchange for life-span. She just needs some love, from what we saw of her dreams.
