Itazura na Kiss - 10

So the premise of this episode was Kotoko being separated from the rest of the Irie family and I thought that it would create some great development. But I’m actually disappointed in this episode because we got none of that. It started off pretty good in which Naoki appeared to not give a damn when Kotoko left and that they went about in their daily lives, but I was hoping to see at least some drama or emotions from Kotoko and Naoki of not being near each other. Instead Yuuki gets sick and it fills up the rest of the episode.

Impressions

Though to make it worse we have Non-chan to fill in the other few minutes of this episode. The other thing is that I don’t think Kotoko’s dad got a very clear image that they were already a part of the Irie family as I’m sure it would’ve been better if he saw a more absent minded, or depressed, Kotoko in their apartment, and then see a cheerful one whilst with the family. In the end they moved back in with the Irie family and it really does seem nothing has changed let alone develop. With the exception of Naoki thanking Kotoko for saving Yuuki’s life and that he actually embraced her in his arms.

I suppose that’s the problem with a series that is zipping through a large timeframe as we don’t really get all that much development between characters. So far it’s been 10 episodes, it’s been about a year and few months and not much has fleshed out between Kotoko and Naoki, except that Naoki has expressed slight interest in Kotoko. Still we have a long way to go in the series so I’m hoping we’ll see some major development soon. Oh and the insert song was really good as it reminds me somewhat like the Hana Yori Dango live drama, but then this whole series reminds me of HYD.
