I must certainly say, side characters are the absolute best, and this episode we’re introduced to Kotegawa Yui. Compared to Ren/Run’s introduction last episode, Yui’s turned out much better. It didn’t waste so much time on running jokes and it actually progressed somewhat in her introduction and we get to see Yui go out in full force with her moral enforcement and isolating Rito as the cause for everything.

Impressions
But poor Rito, right in the middle of everything and he didn’t even do a thing. Though one great thing about this episode was how Yui saw Rito for what he really is and started to warm up to him. Personally I find Yui and Haruna to be the best girls in the series as they are quite normal, though Yui has that slight edge over Haruna as she is more straighforward, plus Yui is way hotter. Yes I like the stereotypical look of the anime girl. So now Yui has been added to the harem but too bad she really isn’t a contender for Rito’s heart.
Also it’s about time they had a different eyecatch, not enough Mikan in this series. So lets hope there’s more Mikan and Yui screen time over the next few episodes. Next episode we’re introduced to the school nurse and what seems to be another detaour from the manga.
