Itazura na Kiss - 08

So after a somewhat big development from the last episode, it just seems like Kotoko is back to square one. Just what the hell is with that? Although I suppose it does make the show more interesting still if Naoki was still the jackass that he is. Anyway the pair are now in college but it’s just like high school, except wearing suits. Naoki is in a top level department whilst Kotoko as well as most of her classmates from Class F are in the same department. You’d think most people would try something other than the doing a course in art if they don’t have the brains to last through high school.

Impressions

This episode is not only a step out of their high school lives, but a step into them being adults. And by that there is a new rival for Kotoko, Matsumoto Yuko. Initially I thought she was a teacher or something, but it definitely makes things much more awesome with her being a student who wants to hit on Naoki. I really don’t understand Naoki. He meet a beautiful women who probably shares the same interests as he does and she is quite intelligent as well, yet he turns her down. Really Naoki will always piss me off to no ends.

Just when I thought we saw the last of Kin-chan, apparently he’s back and having an ever watchful eye on Kotoko. How convenient of him to be working at the cafeteria of the college that Kotoko attends. Well I guess we’ll probably see more of his embarrassing antics over the next few episodes, but in the meantime I think we’ll see more conflict between Kotoko and Yuko. For now Kotoko has joined the tennis club with Naoki and Yuko which can only ensure hilarity. But really, Kotoko can be pretty stupid and I guess her joining the tennis club just proves that.

Next episode Yuko tries to get closer to Naoki with Kotoko and the tennis club president tagging along in hopes of breaking them apart.
