So the effects of the sakura tree’s powers are already starting to wear off and it’s happening at a rather fast rate. Throughout the series we did get the story of Anzu making a wish to the sakura tree about her memory and it seems that it’s already worn off, but the major issue here is Yoshiyuki’s disappearance. The path of being forgotten by those around you is definitely the most painful of all than just simply disappearing and for Yoshiyuki, it feels as if his bonds were breaking apart one by one, and only one person is always there for him, Yume.

So Yoshiyuki finally learns the truth about himself and he took it rather well. It’s actually kind of disappointing how he doesn’t seem too fazed about him being created by the sakura tree and from Sakura’s wish for family. But in the end Yoshiyuki helped Otome make the choice that she couldn’t make but it really feels that he hasn’t done anything at all. But his choice to witherthe sakura tree is a righteous choice and it’s the only thing he could do for everyone else.

With just under 5 weeks to go till I head off to Japan, it’s time to get some things organised. So far my accommodation and airfare have already been taken care of, and during the Supanova Sydney weekend, I paid off the travel insurance as well as a 1 week JR pass. I was contemplating getting a 2 week JR pass so I could travel out to Nagoya from Tokyo and head up to Shirakwa-go. But given the amount of time between arriving back in Tokyo and Comiket is rather short so I’ve opted for the 1 week pass instead. It’ll mainly help me travel between Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
Now I mentioned before that I was planning on hiring a car and drive around. Well I’m halfway there. The first step is to get myself an International Driver’s Permit (IDP), and that was this weekend’s agenda.

Essentially what an IDP is is an translation of your current driver’s license of your country and is required in certain countries in order for you to drive there. The great thing about these is that they last at least 12 months so I can use it again if I decide to head overseas again in the next 12 months. Acquired this from the NRMA (National Roads and Motorist’ Association) and normally it cost $50 AUD. But I somehow only paid $25. $25 if you are a member of the NRMA which I used to be, but not anymore. Oh well, not that it matters. So all I have left is to actually book a car which I’ll do in a few weeks. I’m planning on heading up to the Gunma Prefecture to check out some of the places that Initial D is based on as well as driving around on the wangan at night time. My friends reckon we should just drive to Shirakawa-go, but I can imagine it would be a VERY long drive up that way, but I’ll see how things pan out.
Animelo 2008 was also one of the events that I had planned on attending. Initially we received the help of our travel agent to acquire us tickets through the online booking system, but unfortunately he couldn’t get to the site. And by the time he did (an hour later) the tickets were all sold out. Throughout the week he had tried various sources in hopes to acquire us the tickets but unfortunately he came up dry. It’s a shame really as it was something I was really looking forward to, though I could look online for tickets, but I don’t think it’s worth $300. If people were going to scalp tickets at that price, they might as well sell the tickets at that price from the office. But now I have a day free and Chara Hobby is on the same weekend as Animelo so looks like I’m going there instead.
So as the weeks go by, I’ll give an update on any preparations I need to do for the upcoming trip. I still got many days unplanned on what I want to do and much research to do still. Not to mention that I should brush up on my Japanese speaking skills. Oh and as I mentioned before, if you are going to be in Japan any time during the 1st August and 31st August and want to meet up, drop me an email at adunATmoemoerabuDOTnet.

The one and only episode I’ve been waiting for, the introduction of Golden Darkness, but let’s stick to Yami-chan since it’s easier and it’s more cute. By far this is the best episode of To Love-Ru as it followed the manga pretty closely and we haven’t had that for a few episodes so far. There were plenty of cute moments as well as some ecchi moments but it all played out pretty well, but it’s pretty amazing how Rito gets into these situations and how he manages to get out of them as well. And what was the thing between Zastin and Lala? A Deviluke form of rock paper scissors? At least we saw some leg action from Lala.

Once again we’ve hit another filler episode with another alien who is trying to take Lala away, but this time not for marriage reasons. It’s rather strange that the president of Lala’s fan club happens to be an old lady type of person but since they’re aliens she could possibly be younger than she seems. Rather obvious that Lala didn’t want to go back to space to do an idol CD and seeing how Stellar sensed Haruna as a replacement was pretty predictable.

Wow, so Naoki now has some kind of direction in life. That’s quite a turn about though I wonder if that has anything to do with last episode when Kotoko suggested that Naoki become a doctor. So we do see signs that Kotoko is indeed making changes to Naoki’s life and in a positive way. Though it certainly has taken him a long time to figure out what to do with his life as I believe that if you don’t know what you want to do when entering univeristy or college, then you’re just setting yourself back. But thats just me.

So the premise of this episode was Kotoko being separated from the rest of the Irie family and I thought that it would create some great development. But I’m actually disappointed in this episode because we got none of that. It started off pretty good in which Naoki appeared to not give a damn when Kotoko left and that they went about in their daily lives, but I was hoping to see at least some drama or emotions from Kotoko and Naoki of not being near each other. Instead Yuuki gets sick and it fills up the rest of the episode.
