Even after 3 episodes this series is definitely becoming a favourite for this season as there is plenty of humour, but plenty of development as well. Though I’m surprised to see an event like the sports event so early into the series as I thought they would make some kind of wager during the event or something like that. Still plenty of laughs mainly from all of Kotoko’s reactions and how ironic that her scavenger hunt item was the person she loves. But the best moment would have to go to her crashing into Kin-chan during the relay race.
Naoki is still an ass at this point of the series and reading Kotoko’s letter whilst she was asleep is really invasive of her privacy. He may be smart, but he’s pretty stupid when it comes to a girl’s privacy. But damn it was good when Kotoko slapped him when he recited the love letter and he deserved it. I can’t really see myself liking Naoki’s character throughout the series as I can probably see him being a total ass for quite some time. But I’m willing to believe he’ll change sooner or later, which brings to the point of how he mentioned his feelings could change. This I find rather strange as I can’t seem to figure out the trigger of why he would say such a thing. Could it be because of the love letter?
Either way it seems that Kotoko can handle Naoki’s cold-hearted attitude as by the end of the episode, she recalls what he said about his feelings could change. So it seems that she can get the upper hand on Naoki if the situation arises. Next episode is the pool episode. Again I find it weird how we see some of the usual events from a high school drama/comedy is being played out so early. But it appears to involve Naoki’s little brother.
Also after watching this episode and thinking of what the series reminds me of, I finally figured it out. It reminds me of Hana Yori Dango, what with a lower class girl and a higher class guy and each involving into each other’s lives. Except Kotoko isn’t as awesome as Tsukushi, but at least Naoki is a bit of an ass like Domouji.
