Figure Review: Alicia Florence, the Water Fairy Snow White
Well it’s the long weekend for me here in Australia, and it’s a prime time to do some catch up on the backlog of figures. So I hope I can get through a lot of them in the next few days. This figure would have to be one of the most anticipated figures for 2007 after seeing the promotion pictures for it. Of course this figure is a big welcome to my ever-growing ARIA merchandise kingdom but by far would have to be one of the best items out of them all. So hit the jump to check out more photos for Max Factory’s Alicia Florence.
Normally I wouldn’t get two figures of the same character, but this is a special case since the first Alicia Florence figure was released by Solid Works, the quality was certainly lacking in some areas, though I could say the same with my photography skills at the time. Still I loved every bit of that particular Alicia figure, but now that Max Factory had released one, it just takes Alicia to a whole new level. When I first thought about ARIA figures being released, I wasn’t sure if they could capture the beauty of the ARIA characters, but Max Factory sure have proven me wrong in that one point.
The quality of Alicia is just superb and it’s beyond anything that I could ever imagine for an ARIA figure. How do all those figure sculptors flesh out everything about the character? The paintwork on her uniform is very clean and precise and there are very little to almost no mold lines that are visible compared to Solid Works version.
Alicia’s face is one of the most defining features about her as it looks exactly as it does in the anime. I’ve mentioned this before in with other figures that the one thing I look for in figures is the eyes. The way how the figure’s eyes are painted and how their face is sculpted is what really draws me into the figure. Without the shadow of a doubt, she is purely perfect.
Her pose I absolutely love. The wind blown look really suits a maiden of beauty such as Alicia what with her long hair flowing, the long flowing skirt, and her left hand up beside her face, you just can’t get anything beyond that. And just like every ARIA figure, they always come with an Aria-shachou. Seriously my Aria-shachou collection is growing, lol. Aria-shachou is even sculpted perfect just like Alicia with no flaws and a very clean paintwork.

Really, what more can I say about such a perfect figure. It’s from a series that sits at the number one spot of my favourites, its produced by a company that is well known for their high quality figures, and its one of the best characters from the series. Thinking about it right now, I can’t even imagine another Alicia figure exceeding this one right here. There’s just so much beauty, so much grace, so much elegance that shines through with this figure and for any ARIA fan……. no wait, any figure collector, this Alicia figure should be a part of your collection.

Lately the weather has been crap for the past few weeks so indoor photography again. I wanted to do another “by the seaside” photo shoot as this Alicia figure was beckoning for one. This time around, only one light source was used since the overall figure is white, there was enough illumination. I also tried for a more shadowed look but instead got a darker background, which is surprising given that the coloured cardboard is actually lighter than what is shown in the photos.
Also 7 photos this time around since Alicia is quite a simple figure and some angles didn’t appear right. Also with such a beautiful figure, I didn’t want to dilute that beauty with too many photos.
