Moé Moé Rabu

After watching the first episode, I was pretty impressed by it, but after watching the second episode, I’m sold on it. If anything this episode was much more funnier than the first now that Naoki and Kotoko are living together, but with Naoki being the cold bastard that he is. It really does seem impossible on how the two of them could become a couple as you can plainly see the difference between the two in not just intelligence, but attitude as well. Of course when two opposites clash against each other, it always makes things interesting.

Impressions

There’s probably another reason why I’m starting to like this series, and that would be the character designs. It kind of has that early 90’s style of character design and not surprising since the manga started way back in 1993, yet it has been applied with today’s high level of quality animation. That’s isn’t to say that the 90’s anime was bad, but seeing it like this is great. Plus I’ve always liked the white eye with black dot kind of surprised look.

Naoki’s mum is damn funny for having made Naoki dress up in girls clothes when he was younger. I totally didn’t expect something like that but it also shows why Naoki has that cold nature. But still, knowing that he is voiced by Hirakawa Daisuke (Makoto from School Days), I think he should just get Nice Boated as Naoki does piss me off at this point, but that’s just how the story goes. Kotoko did well in blackmailing Naoki in helping her study, and it certainly brought in a lot of hilarious moments between the two. Still I find it rather ironic how Kotoko got the 50th place as she only managed to scrape across the line. Also is it really such a big thing to have the test rankings made public to the student body? I could never understand why Japanese schools do this, assuming they do this at all.

So now the whole school knows that Naoki and Kotoko are living together, and that will only have repercussions, but funny ones at that. Just when I thought Naoki was warming up a bit, he becomes even more of a bastard by saying those things to Kotoko. Yet Kotoko realises she still has feelings for Naoki. Oh the dilemma. Anyway next episode is the sports carnival.
