Hayate no Gotoku! - 51

This episode reminds me why we all loved Hayate no Gotoku from the start of the series, and that is Hayate getting into all sorts of problems and seeing his uncanny abilities to scrape through them. It’s kind of good that they brought back in the plot that Hayate has the 150 million yen debt as it certainly seems that we’ve forgotten about it throughout the series as well as bring back the pendant that Hayate received from Mikaido. Though I don’t find it surprising how it was Mikaido testing Hayate with his loyalty to Nagi and I’m sure that part of the story will continue one day.

Impressions

Although the debt rears up again, Nagi wins big points by questioning Hayate if the debt is the only thing that joins them together. We’ve seen throughout the series that Hayate is now an integral part of the Sanzenin family and that there is no way he would leave them now. Though what is more surprising is Nagi’s cooking has improved a little, lol. Sakuya blushing at Wataru’s thanks was cute as well, but it’s just like her to whack him with her harisen.

Oh much love for Hinagiku again who thinks back to when Hayate got her the plush doll. But it’s also good seeing her hangout with Aika and Chiharu as it really does make you wonder if Hinagiku has any friends other than Risa, Miki, and Izumi. I also noticed that most of the mainstream characters had some screen time this episode as well, which is probably a way to wrap up the series. The ending of this episode does give the impression this is the last episode of this season and that the next episode is more of an extra one which isn’t too bad, but I kind of hate series that do that.

So next episode is the last of this season of Hayate no Gotoku. I just hope that it ends with a blast or with some awesome Hinagiku screen time. But it seems to be focusing on Hayate and Nagi, which is to be expected. Also the final episode is also the first episode that has an English title.

More Hina would be awesome ^^. Nagi asking Hayate about the reason he stays with her was epic, showing the relationship that has developed between the two. Hayate must be able to jump pretty far off the crane if he reached the boat out in the middle of the ocean lol. Too bad it’s ending but a new season is coming up so I’m looking forward to that ;p.

Hmm..there’s not much development between Hayate and Nagi..
    There are still ‘misunderstandings’..
But that’s what makes this anime funny…

Agreed. More Hina is awesome! But I don’t want a lot of Hina in the final episode. They should just focus on Hayate and Nagi.

Also, looking forward to the final episode and of course, the next season..

AS: It was certainly something I thought you wouldn’t hear from Nagi, but it does show she does consider Hayate a part of the family. Also that’s what I like about Hayate, his uncanny abilities to do the impossible!

Setsukyie: There is still that misunderstanding, but it’s at least a step forward in the relationship development as the barrier of the debt is now gone. Hayate had always thought he had to be there for Nagi because he is obliged to the debt he has, but Nagi has cleared that by saying that he isn’t just there because of the debt, so I consider that a step forward in their relationship.
