OP: “Swinging” by Muramasa☆
Well this was definitely an unexpected OP sequence given the small intro just before this. It makes me wonder if the series is going down the track like the .hack series by differentiating between the real world and the virtual world. Still, the Fatina (the blonde) is pretty cute.

Impressions
So this is Gonzo’s new work and quite frankily I’m surprised at how well this first episode was done. Although I can’t quite say I’ve watched anything Gonzo recently, and I think the last thing I remember watching Gonzo produced was Romeo X Juliet. After a few minutes of watching this episode though, it gave me the impression that it’s like watching my friend play WoW, although it’s probably funnier watching my friends play. I’m not really a fan of MMORPG turned anime series, with the slight exception of the .hack series. However Gonzo may have changed that with the little quirky humour here.
Though really, with the storytelling of the series as it was in this episode, it does make it seem that this is all a game. Yet by the end of the episode it does seem like it at all. Then there were the parodies to include which just deepens that question. The only problem though with this series is how well it will go on later down the track. Somehow I can see this turning out to be absolutely crap but I don’t think it could go down the track of .hack//roots, or even worse Ragnorak the Animation. But I’m willing to give this series a chance but any signs of an emo hero for the next 10 episodes, I’m out of here.

ED: “Tōchōsha-tachi” by Kenn
Strange how the ED sequence covers different characters than the ones we see in this first episode. I’m guessing Jil gets kicked out of the current group and joins/forms another group. Music wise both OP and ED are ok, but I prefer the OP than the ED, just like other series so far this season.
