Hayate no Gotoku! - 50

So we’re finally back to the usual zany antics that happen in Hayate no Gotoku and this episode is another Nagi and Ayumu pairing. I’ve mentioned before that I liked episode featuring Nagi and Ayumu and this is no exception. Both show their strengths and weaknesses in this contest as well as their rivalry for Hayate’s heart, but what I like best about these types of episodes is that it also shows that they can be good friends as well.

Impressions

One of the more funnier aspects of this episode was the narrator having a more major role even though we could only see his leg, but as well as the return of Ma Ou. It’s been AGES since I heard Ma Ou (like WAY BACK in episode 10) so it was pretty cool that she makes a return. Seeing Kasumi Aika and Harukaze Chiharu (Vice President and Secretary) making another appearance in the series again was a nice addition as we always see them holding the preview sign, but they both got pretty much no screen time since the start of the second half. I think they would’ve been some nice addition to the already large cast of characters if they were given some chance for screen time, but this is probably the most they’ll get with the series finishing in two episodes.

Ah Hinagiku was lovely as always. Funny how she seems to be conned into such things by Miki, Izumi, and Risa. But her kindheartedness is one of the best things about her. In the end, Nagi and Ayumu outshine Hinagiku in this episode (how could I say such a thing!!) with their teamwork and ended up winning. Still I find it amusing that Nagi joined the competition in order to win the trophy because it looks like Hayate. So with two episodes left, we’re drawing ever so closer to the end. Next episode becomes more tsuntsun and something in relation to Hayate’s debt.
