Hayate no Gotoku! - 49

Wow, it’s been close to an entire month since I last watched an episode of Hayate no Gotoku. The funniest yet weirdest thing before this episode was released I actually had an anime dream that I was Hayate. Call me crazy but it was probably a premonition that an episode was going to be released. Oh how I live a sad life. So after an astounding episode last time with all-time favourite Hinagiku, it was time to shift focus to other characters so this time it’s Risa, Miki, and Izumi. I’m actually surprised I remembered their names given that they hardly have any screen time.

Impressions

With the series coming ever so closer to the end, I didn’t expect this episode to be so normal, and that was the theme throughout. So many anti-climatic stories normally would be perceived as pretty stupid, but for some reason with a bit of Hayate no Gotoku style, it actually made it pretty enjoyable. It was also pretty random how Yukiji, Klaus, and Saki just appeared with each telling a story, but that’s what Hayate no Gotoku is all about, the silly randomness. Still I loved how we saw the various cosplay outfits that Hayate wore and the way they portrayed him as a flirt. the poor guy never gets a break.

With Risa, Miki, and Izumi coming at the end stating this is the last time they’ll play main characters, I can see that being so true as they have such a small presence in the cast of characters that a lot of the time I forget who is who, lol. Next episode is another Nagi and Ayumu episode. I tend to love those kind of episodes so it’ll be a good one to watch. I only wish the subs come out faster but then I’m probably better off watching the raws.

Oh and with the giant peach floating by Ayumu, did anyone else think James and the Giant Peach?

I totally thought of James and the Giant Peach. That was the very first thing I thought of when I saw it.

For a “normal” episode, this wasn’t bad. Side character episodes are always special (ok, maybe not always).

The first thing that came to mind for me was Momotaro–I think somehow I missed out on James and the Giant Peach when I was younger…

Sup Adun. Sorry this is unrelated to the entry but I thought I should let you know. Apparently the latest edition of Megami Magazine comes with some Clannd “Book in book” thing, whatever that is. Are you interested? I’m going to check it out at Kino on Monday after work. If you have details please let me know.

Hehe yeah I thought this was a pretty nice episode. Oh yeah, have you heard? There is going to be a second season of it. I felt really happy about that since that means they will of course continue more of it so more manga stuff will be covered too!

Was that a reference to another famous Nishizawa perhaps? A certain Momoka perhaps? I’m glad to see more Maria as well, especially a sleeping one. I just hope the second season pulls more of the manga instead of creating so much filler material.
