With a series like Bamboo Blade, it’s kind of hard to see some drama fit into it, but with this episode, we certainly got some level of drama that made this really enjoyable. With the club’s defeat still lingering amongst everyone, it seems that the club is falling apart with Tamaki resigning, Toraji placing the issue of Toyama and Iwase on her shoulders, and Miyako’s depression of losing to Carrie. But the one thing I loved about this episode is how it portrays that everyone as individuals they are weak, but as a whole, they are strong.

Impressions
Tamaki’s confusion of quiting kendo was due to her frustrations of losing to Rin, and it was Yuuji who pointed that out to her and that she should look forward. Then Tamaki’s wish to learn the jodan from Toraji also pushed him to become the adviser that he should be. I actually found it rather surprising that Toraji won against Kenzaburo with the jodan, and hopefully teaching Tamaki the jodan will reignite his passion for kendo. Satori’s outburst to Miyako was nothing short of spectacular. It’s probably the first time we’ve seen Satori get that angry and that she stood up to Miyako’s glares, and I guess that shows that Satori believes in Miyako. Though if she spurted out something like “believe in the me that believes in you” would’ve made this so much more epic and funny.
Oh and what such an awesome Kirino x Saya episode. Miyako and Dan may be the couple of the series, but just like Zyl, Kirino x Saya is second in line for me and the chemistry of friendship between the two certainly goes all the way. Even to the point of having Saya push Kirino onto the bed. Oh man I can’t wait to get my hands on some BB doujins when I’m in Japan, lol. Dan’s defeat of Toyama was also great as it was also a great way to send off Toyama and Iwase on good terms. The two have always been perceived as the black sheep of the club, but now I have a higher respect for them.
So now with the club back on it’s feet and with only two episodes to go, it looks like we’re back to another tournament and hopefully the girls can get their revenge. It also seems like we’ll find out how Carrie got into kendo.
