It’s certainly has been a long time since I’ve owned my Nissan Pulsar N15 SSS. It’s been at least a good 4 years and it’s still going strong, and it has been a good 3 years since it I had it running on a dyno. The last time I did the run I got 92.3kW ( 123.78 HP) at the wheels and it had certainly surprised not only me, but the other Pulsar owners that were there. So after three years I figured it was time to see if it’s still going strong. So hit the jump to check out the results.

For those who are new to my blog, and have a slight interest in cars, this is the list of mods done to my car:
- Genie 4-2-1 extractors
- 2 inch catback exhaust with Genie cannon muffler
- Exedy Heavy Duty organic clutch
- PAR Billet Lightened Racing Flywheel
- OEM short shifter
But really the only thing performance wise for power is the exhaust. Over the three years I haven’t added anything to give it more power so I was really curious to see if my little pocket rocket still has the same guts as last time. Out of all m hobbies, the car is the last on the list as most of my money goes to otaku goods or photography equipment, although I’m considering a lot of things for my car but I’ll explain that later.

To also note, I have not heard what my exhaust sounds like outside the car ever since the last dyno run, and that was three years ago. The exhaust sounds really different inside and outside, but I must certainly say, it’s like music to the ears, lol. Also as it was being prepped, I was told my car was running low on oil, lucky the guys topped it up before running. But anyway, here is the result (click to see a larger version):
So after 3 years I’ve lost 6.2 kW, so I lost an average of 2.1kW/year, and of course that doesn’t surprise me at all. 3 years is a long time and cars do wear over time. Other things play into factor in the results such as my car needing to go for a service, it was running low on oil initially, I did have an exhaust leak fixed 2 months ago and the other mishaps I’ve had with the car over the 3 years. But running 86kW (115.33) it’s still surprisingly quick, but I woud think that’s thanks to the lightened flywheel.
Now the only thing from this point on is whether I still want to continue modding the Pulsar. If I wanted to, I could get the car upto 100kW easy now that I have a job that earns me decent money, though looking ahead I would like to buy a new car (thinking of an RX-8 as my next car) but even then I’d still mod that. Oh such expensive hobbies I have, lol.

Now I know your real name is Phillip and not Adun… I am not kidding you there.
I always thought your name was Adun. Foolish I am…
Anyways, I don’t know much about cars, but by the numbers, it doesn’t seem like your performance car got run down that much over three years.
I don’t really know much about cars, but I now know your name is Phillip Chueng lol
I’d probably never go for cars until I really, really have to though since They’re so high-maintenance.

AOforever1: Don’t worry, I’ve had that happen to before. In fact a good friend of mine that I met at uni called me Adun for a year before calling me by my real name. He was just too used to calling me by my username. To most it seems that it hasn’t lost much power, but to me, I do feel it but then I’ve been driving it for a number of years so I got used to it.
Zeroblade: Most people get a car to get from A to B, which is fine by me, but I’ve been interested in cars for a while, even before watching stuff like Initial D.
Audi… =0~~
Get an Audi… =0~~
Nice thats not alot of loss there, I wish I had a car but I still haven’t got t round to getting my provisional license let only arranging lessons.
