Moé Moé Rabu

Well I certainly hate to say it, but it seems for sure that the Kyou/Ryou and Tomoyo arcs are over and done with. The focus of the series seems to have shifted now towards Nagisa’s arc but we also get a bit of story behind Tomoya as well.However I am surprised that the pacing has picked up quite a bit and that Tomoya is now staying with Nagisa’s family. From the preview last episode, I was actually hoping we could see some development of Tomoya’s situation with his father. I also noticed a lot of distant shots this episode, which could reflect the distance between Tomoya and his father.

Impressions

I can understand Tomoya’s feelings of being uncomfortable in such a warm family environment. I wouldn’t exactly say I live in the same situation as Tomoya, but I do know it feels strange being a part of one other person’s family. During high school once, I stayed with a friend’s family since my parents we’re worried about me living alone, and since each family is different, I certainly felt the odd one out. But it’s still good to see that he fits right in, but of course that’s also from the efforts of Akio and Sanae for being such nice hosts. Now that Tomoya is living with the Furukawas, we already get some hints at both Nagisa’s story such as her feelings of needing to apologise for something, and Sanae being a former teacher but stopped due to circumstances. Of course I get the feeling the two are connected but I can’t really tell how deep Nagisa’s story goes. One thing for sure though, it’ll be a rollercoaster of good times and bad times.

Still the laughs continue despite the big relevation of the last episode. Sunohara really is such an awesome and funny guy and he is quite creative at being able to use the senritsu sound effect at the right moment. He still doesn’t know when to stop either and getting a punch from both Kyou and Tomoyo was coming for sure. One of the best parts was also seeing Tomoya’s face when listening to Sunohara’s little story. Nagisa having that mad look is so cute that it’s almost like you can’t tell that she’s mad, lol. Oh and with the kids from Sanae’s cram school, is that a little Misuzu there?

Next episode it seems that we’re starting to delve deeper into Nagisa’s story and more specifically, what happened to her in the past. I should really try and keep up to date with Clannad as it’s getting even better with Nagisa’s story starting out.

Merchandise of the Week

As some of you know, I got myself a Clannad wallscroll with Nagisa on it thanks to Windbell. Of course the items he sent to me weren’t just limited to just the wallscroll as what else was included was 3 character clearfiles. That’s right, 3 - Nagisa, Tomoyo, and Kyou.

Would you normally call these clearfiles? I assume that’s what these are called as you can place in A4 sized documents. Of course I would never actually use these, not to mention these are pretty hard to get outside of Japan. Speaking of the movie, I’m hella excited as the Clannad movie DVD is to be released this week! Some people don’t seem to like the art style that Toei has used for the movie, but I like it quite a lot so I really can’t wait till I watch it.
