Continuing on with the Hayate line of posts and the merchandise posts as well, I thought it would be good be a good time to show something that combines the two things. By far there hasn’t been much Hayate no Gotoku merchandise that has tickled my fancy, or I’m just oblivious about most of them. So this little piece is actually the first of any Hayate no Gotoku merchandise that I’ve purchased and I hope there will be more in the future. So for the time being, hit the jump to check out Hayate no Gotoku Official Box.

Funny how I came about finding this at Kinokuniya. Pretty much last week I headed into the city as my parents wanted me to teach them how to burn a CD. I wasn’t going to try and explain over the phone as that’s too much of an effort, so I headed down to the city and made a trip to Kinokuniya afterwards. The moment I saw this, it was instant grab and I didn’t bother checking the price (I’m not lying either).

Do forgive me for the flare on some of the pictures, but that’s what happens when you photograph glossy type of magazines. Anyway the moment you open the cover you are greeted with a poster of what’s exactly on the front cover. On the reverse side we get some screenshots of the 1st opening sequence and the 1st and 2nd ending sequences. You know what I really want now, a HUGE Hinagiku poster or wallscroll as that would be pure love.

The first few pages cover some of the artwork that has been released since the airing of Hayate no Gotoku. Most you would’ve have seen already but they are still pleasant to the eyes. I mainly like the swimsuit ones and cosplay ones that you see in the pictures above.

Next up is the character profiles of all your favourite characters along side some memorable screenshots that we’ve seen in the first 26 episodes. One of the best features of this book as well is after the Hayate, Nagi, and Maria profiles, we get a small intermission of a spread of the intermission eyecatches with the exact quotes that they said in them. It’s so awesome seeing these again but there seems to also be some kind of message. You may not be able to see it in the picture, but there is a small sign indicating the first hiragana character of each of the quotes. Not exactly sure what it’s saying and I can’t be bothered figuring it out unless people really want to know.

Next up is some coverage on the available merchandise for Hayate no Gotoku as well as the recent covers for the character albums and manga volumes. Having a look through I noticed there was a Nagi and Hinagiku plushy. I’d love to have a Hinagiku plushy wearing a bunny costume.

Next up, and other than the intermission pictures or the poster this has to be the best part of the book, Hayate’s debt letter that he got from his parents. You can cut out the page and they even included a cutout envelope for you to put it in. Oh because I’m nice, I actually scanned the debt letter and you can get a larger version of it right here.

The last parts are mainly just the character design sketches and the various outfits that we’ve seen them wear through the series. And of course there is the backcover. So far this Hayate no Gotoku Official Box is looking pretty good, but the goods don’t stop there as there’s still the extra goodies that come with the box.

The first item is a pin with the Hakuou Academy emblem on it. I’m not too big of a fan on pins as I tend to lose them. The second item is actually the Hakuou Academy’s sports t-shirt, but that’s not just any t-shirt, it’s actually Hinagiku’s t-shirt as it has her family name on the front, which isn’t sewn on, but it actually has Hinagiku’s name written on the inner edge of the bottom of the t-shirt. When I saw this I thought WOW. So for those who want a little bit of Hinagiku in their life, here it is!
This has certainly been one of the best purchases for me from Kinokuniya in the month of February. But I bet you’re wondering how much this cost me. Well I was certainly surprised when I checked the receipt and it was $30 AUD. So this is definitely worth the money compared to the Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe Vol.1. This Official Box also only covers the first 26 episodes of Hayate no Gotoku so I think there could possibly be a second one to come out once the series has finished. I for one will definitely be buying that if I see it.

Not bad for $30.
lol love the debt letter..and the hina shirt
Now…if I only had money…
Hey, if they’ve got other copies there… some people sure could use some. Hint, hint.
Bubby: Even for a uni student such as yourself, $30 is cheap
Haesslich: I’ll keep that in mind
$30?
DO WANT ;_;
Just as a note, khardic_paladin has pointed out to me that you can purchase the Official Box from HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/SGK59056 Get it whilst it’s still in stock!
