Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe Vol.1 - ef - a tale of memories

Remember a few weeks ago ago that I bought the Dengeki G’s Festival Vol.11 at Kinokuniya? Well that wasn’t the only thing I bought. Right there as well was Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe Vol.1 and I decided to pick that up as well. Of course since it was ef - a tale of memories edition, I couldn’t resist, but there is also another reason I bought this particular one as well. So hit the jump to check out pictures of what this version of Dengeki G’s Festival contains.

With this being a Vol.1 and I’ve never heard of the Deluxe edition, I was curious to see if there is any differences with this and other Dengeki G’s Festivals. Well it’s a little disappointing to say but there is really no difference between the two editions, with the exception of the extra goodies that come with it are different. The magazine itself covers the usual things you see in other editions such as character profiles, small episode summaries, seiyuu interviews, staff interviews, and some coverage of the ef game as well.

Of course it also comes with a double sided poster of your favourite girls in lingerie. Or if you’re a dedicated Miyako fan, you can always have the Miyako side instead.

Now for the extra goodies. And this one is a little different to your regular Dengeki G’s Festival. Most of the one’s I’ve seen come with a dakimakura cover, but this edition instead comes with an oppai mousepad. That’s right, the second reason I bought this was because of the oppai mousepad as I was pretty curious about these as I’ve seen pictures of them.

I must certainly say, they are quite firm and rather comfortable to place your wrist over (I can see myself getting burned by a few friend who’ll read this). Though for me I personally won’t be using this mousepad as it’ll forever be stored away. Mainly because my mousepad wears down fairly quickly and i don’t want to ruin such goods. The other items that comes with the edition is a Miyako phone hanger and some kind of pass holder.

In the future, I don’t think I’d be buying any more Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe editions, well from Kinokuniya. I don’t regret buying this at all, but I do regret the price I paid for it as really, it should have been cheaper than the $80 AUD I paid for it. Yes it’s a rip-off, but in the presence of Roobar, price is not an issue.

    *stares for five minutes*

Yeah, that alone would be enough to make it worth buying. Nice illustrations as well lol.

Random Image: I’m sure you could find one online, just have to go out there and search.

gordon: I was hoping that Kinokuniya would have the To Heart 2 one there, but knowing my luck it’ll be bought by someone else.

ETERNAL: Certainly are a lot of Miyako fans out there. Well this poster is indeed eye catching for those fans.

Author: There really are no words for merchandise such as this.

Your mousepad wears down quickly? I use my mouse really intensively and I used to have the problem in that I would erode all the good mousing surfaces. But since I dished out the money for a decent mouse pad (exactmat) that is smooth and tracks well, it’s pretty much been a permanent fixture. It’s made out of aluminum and some kind of hard plastic which doesn’t wear down.

I’ve actually stopped getting the Festival Deluxe volumes because of the price but also because I can’t find a use for the stuff it comes with.

Yeah don’t use the mousepad. Merchandises aren’t meant to be used =D. I saw this at Kinokuniya, too. When I saw the Miyako mousepad, my reaction was “XD ^__^;;”. Anyway, good stuff. Keep teling us about your purchases! That way, if I see something I like, I can go and get it as well =D. Nice!

lu-k: As far as I know, there aren’t any visual/artbooks for ef. Though I’m sure we’ll see something in a few months down the track. It’s proven to be quite popular so I’m sure they’ll release something.

icie: I do use my mouse a lot and I’ve already worn down the current one I’m using. Forking out the money for a decent mousepad would be an option, but since I have very limited room on the slide out keyboard on the desk, I have to settle for small ones. Also I wouldn’t have bought this if I wasn’t in the presence of my friend Roobar. Trust me, if ANYONE ever goes shopping with me and Roobar when it comes to otaku goods, you’ll have a hard to keeping up.

M12: But if I tell you of such purchases, then there might not be any for you to buy, lol.

ron~: Yeah it’s definitely a rip-off. I had a feeling it should have been less but I guess Kinokuniya like to do a markup on particular items.

Pudding: Most things in Sydney tend to be expensive, hence why it’s cheaper to import it rather than buy it locally. Of course when money wasn’t an issue at the time.
