Bamboo Blade - 19

In many other series that I have seen, the addition of a gaijin character, whether they are a permanent cast member, or a one-off character, they bring about much awesomeness to the series. But in Bamboo Blade, well it certainly did bring some fun into the series, but in a sense I’m not really satisfied with it all. Don’t get me wrong, having Kelly fight Miyako over Dan-kun was funn, but I think it was because Kelly appeared for only half of the episode. But with the ending of the episode, I think we could see Kelly make another appearance, but only if Bamboo Blade was going for more than 24 episodes.

Impressions

Poor Miyako, it really does seem that she isn’t getting any stronger after all the matches she has been through. But now that Miyako has been defeated by someone much stronger than the other girls (except maybe Tama), she has become more determined to win and fight against Kelly the next time they meet. But still, going up against a nitoryuu is not an easy task for any high schooler, but then that brings the question if Kelly is a high schooler at all. Well she would have to be since she was wearing a school uniform.

Some nice development between Dan-kun and Miyako, especially Dan telling Kelly in English that he loves Miyako. Gotta love those romantic moments between those two. Though definitely funny hearing Dan-kun speaking in English, but the best moment would be Toraji and Yuuji going “fuzakeruna” over Dan’s comment. Really, being told that by Dan-kun would make anyone yell that. The other part was Miyako’s and Kelly’s impressions of Dan-kun: a pangolia and an armadillo. What the hell?

Next episode looks to be Tama going to an amusement park to watch Blade Braver live on stage.

I’m pretty sure it was “Carrie” though :S.

For anime original, I thought this was actually pretty good. Dan-kun’s last english line was definitely the best thing ever.

Oh I totally forgot this was an anime original. Just goes to show what happens when you watch nearly everything under the sun and enduring the daily grind, lol. Carrie Kelly, both sound the same. Ah the joys of trying to interpret Japanese.
