Hayate no Gotoku! - 43

Ah the influences of manga can be quite a thing, but when influences one of the richest girls int he world, it’ll surely bring about many laughs. This episode, Nagi comes to the idea that if she treats Hayate coldly, he’ll come chasing after her. Of course Hayate is a little too dense to realise anything and is rather occupied by exploring the many wonders on the cruise ship. Just seeing Nagi resisting to be nice to Hayate was hilarious on it’s own and how she nearly cracked after seeing Hayate’s puppy dog eyes was the icing on the cake.

Impressions

Still, Nagi’s plans never went as planned, but then most things in Hayate no Gotoku don’t go to plan and she ends up being saved by Hayate once again. Despite having swam in cold water and lost a lot of blood, Hayate is pretty awesome that he could exert that much strength in order to save Nagi, but then he still needed saving in the end, thanks to Klaus. But poor Nagi, being ignored even at the end thanks to her cold attitude throughout the episode, but still, such a manly moment between Hayate and Klaus.

Sakuya’s perception of Isumi being blessed by the goddess of luck, and Hayate with curse of the devil was the best reference I saw this episode. Seeing Isumi’s goddess is none other than Shao from Mamotte Shugogettan, which happens to be one of my favourite purple haired girls, and Hayate’s is Ryuk from Death Note, which I find rather fitting. Speaking of Sakuya, her outfit is definitely something outrageous. Was she going for the goth loli look or something? I can’t tell whether I like or not, but having the chain from her neck to wrist is rather unique.

Hayate no Gotoku is known for breaking the 4th wall, and next episode it’s like it’s jumping out of the stage and into the production side of things by being at Synergy SP’s offices. What a way to do a plugin, lol.
