Moé Moé Rabu

Just when you think we had quite a bit of Kyou awesomeness in the last episode, this episode just takes it to a higher level of ascension. As a HUGE Kyou fan, I literally died and went to heaven, only to come back and died once again. Not only having Kyou and Tomoya locked in the gym storage room brought about much awesomeness with Kyou, it did bring about much laughter as well and it was something that I didn’t expect them to be building up on. Of course it also brought up some many interesting things such as Tomoya does know Kyou is trying to set him up with Ryou, but it does make one wonder if Kyou’s reactions were from her own feelings or from the charm. But who cares in the end, as who wouldn’t want to be locked up with Kyou? Now I just need that charm encyclopedia that Yukine has.

Impressions

The other best part of this episode as well is of course Tomoyo. Lately she hasn’t had much screen time and from the looks of things, the focus is now shifting to her story. KyoAni has conveniently taken Nagisa out of the picture for the time being which allows them to develop more on the other girls but I really can’t seem to accept the fact that they are trying to combine both Kyou/Ryou’s story with Tomoyo’s. But since we’re already rolling with Tomoyo’s story, I don’t think we’ll see too many episodes being spent on it as I can imagine Nagisa’s story will be a long one, well I’m hoping it is.

Having Tomoyo deciding to wake Tomoya up is rather sudden, but I do know that it happens in the game. But still, being woken up by a bishoujo like Tomoyo is indeed a fantasy on it’s own. Anyway with that in mind, I wonder if Tomoyo really is only looking out for Tomoya’s attendance record, or she is looking for something more. The way that she expresses that it’s fun being with him does set off some flags and I do wonder if we’ll see her develop any feelings towards Tomoya any further. It’d be rather interesting to see as Kyou would certainly try to step in and do something about it.

But in the end, we know that the one person for Tomoya is Nagisa. Spending time alone in the club room thinking about Nagisa shows how special she is to him and how much he cares about her. It’s strange to think that he would care so much about Nagisa, given that he is a delinquent after all, but over the course of the series so far we can see that Tomoya really is a nice guy. Witty, but a nice guy. Again he has shown us that by taking the blame for Tomoyo, but I also get the underlying feeling that he is doing that for Nagisa as well since Tomoyo is goin for student council president, which means Nagisa can establish the drama club.

Next episode we get a deeper look into Tomoyo’s reason of transfering schools and wanting to become the student council president. Also I really wish Fuko would stop turning up randomly like that. It’s getting rather old and it’s lost it’s impact.

Merchandise of the Week

Since this episode was one part Tomoyo, I figured something Tomoyo related would be nice. This particular item was bought in Japan WAY back in 2005 on one of my many trips to Akihabara. As I was on the verge of running out of money, I figured I would buy myself a H-Game of some sort since I decided to buy at least one in my entire trip. Luckily at the time they had a promo for those who bought the Tomoyo After game, and it came with this lovely towel:

Oddly enough as well, I still haven’t played the Tomoyo After game, but I already knew parts of the story beforehand. The actual game sits somewhere on my shelf, lol.
