As I expected, Toraji decided to have Tamaki forfeit her match since she won’t be able to continue on. But the bigger surprise was how angry Tamaki really was seeing how she wanted to continue so badly but moreso that she didn’t realise she used her tsuki on Konishi. Still Toraji made the right decision and Kirino was the one that helped Tamaki calm down. As expected of the team’s captain. But even with Kirino, so much love for her. I just loved how she started to mellow out once she heard news of her mother, resulting in the team losing the match, but the most rewarding thing was that they all had fun.

Impressions
Despite after a slight serious dilemma with Tamaki’s injury, the pacing of the episode didn’t feel all that fast especially since we also got other little bits added on afterwards. Like Konishi’s small mental breakdown in the toilet, to Sayako’s goal of creating the team’s theme song, as well as some development between Tamaki and her father. It’s quite funny seeing Tamaki worried about missing her TV shows as I was exactly like that back in the days of when I was watching TV. But I would have to agree with Tamaki’s father that she has indeed changed and that is shown how Tamaki placed her certificate in the frame her father bought.
I’ve also noticed in this episode that the quality of the animation is starting to step up a bit, but even before it’s still an enjoyable series where the animation isn’t a deciding factor for this show. Next episode is an anime original, which is certainly a surprise. Given the success that Hayate no Gotoku had with anime originals, I can only hope that the next episode will turn out pretty awesome.
