H20 ~Footprints in the Sand~ – 04

There’s always something about a trap character in a harem based kind of series that makes them that much more special. However with this episode being the focus being on Hamaji, it does very little into bringing us that little something that makes the trap one step above the rest. I’m not exactly sure why they decided to go for a Hamaji episode, but it at least allows for some kind of character introduction since most of the girls, besides Hinata and Hayami who are the main girls. Still it brings little to the character at that and I think we could see the same with some of the other girls.

As there is always a beach episode in almost EVERY harem anime, I’m disappointed that the animation itself remained it’s crappy self, yet only with that extra hint of detail on Hinata’s breasts. I should probably stop talking about animation quality since this is the best we’ll ever see it. Anyway, I would say that this episode was a real let down, but that would most likely be due to being spoilt about Hamaji’s true nature, but the best part for me would be his sudden revealing of his secret. Of course seeing a scene of a man’s body with a girl’s head is somewhat disturbing and I should probably wash my eyes out right now.

Well they’ve somehow also managed to squeeze in a bit of the ongoing story with Hayami and Hinata, but we are nowhere near the drama I’m expecting to see. But now that the players of the love triangle are together, hopefully something will start up. Otherwise all we’ll be seeing is Yui calling Hamaji a cockroach and getting her flunkys beating her down for the next few episodes.

I somehow prefer the manga… but seeing 20 minutes of colour is good too =)

Every harem anime always has a beach episode, an onsen episode, and a summer festival episode. It’s in the rules.

And let’s not forget about the amusement park episode where the two leads *almost* confesses.

Indeed, we should stop talking about H2O’s art quality.

Sigh, when I found out about Hamaji, my mouth fell open for over thirty seconds. It’s really disappointing for the fans. One of the DVDs come with a card of Hamaji in a swimsuit. After this episode, I don’t want it!

I’m going to watch on because Hayami is awesome :3.
