If the first episode is any indication of how soothing a series such as ARIA can be, then the second episode can bring us all the same things, but with some added laughter along for the ride. Every single second there was a smile on my face as we see Akari convey Neo-Venezia through her eyes, but as well as when Amaranta shows the same thing but from a different perspective. I’ve always thought that the things we see through the daily lives of Akari, Aika, and Alice to be such a wonderful thing, but I’m still blown away every time we see something even grander later on.

Impressions
This episode is about Amaranta, a customer who wishes to have Akari guide her around Neo-Venezia, and Akari does her best to show her around. It’s a great stepping stone for her as she continues on her journey to become a Prima, but it does show she still has a lot of things to learn, but the most important thing that Akari knows is expressing her feelings about her love for Neo-Venezia. That is what I love about this show. It’s so rare that you find such sweet, innocent, yet cheerful characters in anime series, more so in real life, but ARIA brings us those things that we don’t see often in our lives and shows that life can be grand.
So many funny moments especially in the Aika and Alice side of things. I just loved their little adventure of following Akari around, but the best was definitely hearing Alice’s stomach growling. It was so cute seeing her trying to cheer on Aika, only to find out a second later she is just as hungry. It also reminded me of ARIA The Natural episode 10 where they did the same thing and followed Akari around.
Aria-shachou also brings us many amusing moments such as spotting Aika and Alice following them, only to find it difficult telling Akari about it. The start of the episode where Akari finds that Aria-shachou ate all the donuts was so cute as I’ve never seen Akari cry like that before. Plus with this happening whilst the OP is playing, it gives that light-hearted feel to everything where we can both smile and laugh. So ARIA is off to a really good start and I can only hope that it will continue like this over the course of the series. Of course even if it didn’t, I’d still love every bit of it.
I’ve also noticed that Ai’s voice sounds much more mature than before. It’s still the same seiyuu but I think it’s nice that she has a matured voice now. It shows that everyone is growing as the series progresses, but I also wonder if Ai has grown up as well. It’ll be good to see her make another appearance again in the series, but if this is slated for 13 episodes, I don’t think we’ll see her till the near of the series.

Oh god… your blog is tempting me to spoil ep two for myself as I await the subs T_T
The shot of Aria Sachou on the stick is priceless! punyu!
Hehe, Alice’s tummy rumble was pretty funny all right.
I’d definitely be curious to see Ai again in the series. It’s been a while since I’ve read the manga, but IIRC Ai looked a bit older the last time she made an appearance. Don’t remember offhand if she did in the anime.

AOforever1: ARIA is a show that you can watch without subs and get the general understanding of what is going on. It’s not a very difficult anime to understand.
0rion: I don’t recall ever seeing Ai make an appearance in the manga as she was a anime only character from ARIA The ANIMATION. Ai was used as the person that Akari sends her emails to in the anime, but the manga AFAIK that person is still a mystery.
Jesus this show just bored me to death. I really understood what moe means now by watching this show. Yet at the same time I just went WTF after watching it.
Sly: I wouldn’t exactly call ARIA moé compared to some of the other shows out there, but it does have it’s cute moments. Still, ARIA isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the show really is about nothing than the everyday lives of the undines. Sure enough you find it boring, but after a long day at work, this is one of the series that you can unwind with.
Adun, I have done my summary for episode 3. If u need the info of the venue names and the character names, I have it. This will save u a lot of trouble when u write the post.
