Figure Gallery: Konomiya Tamaki, my other Da Capo love

Despite me saying that I was hoping to get through the figure photography backlog, well it all didn’t go as planned. The somewhat scorching Australian sun did wonders to my motivation, as well as lack of sleep, but I struggled to fight it and managed to squeeze in some figure photography in the end. Now this figure is one that I stupidly canceled just a week before it was released for reasons I can’t quite remember, but she is finally mine and a part of my ever growing collection. This time, I present a Da Capo heroine, Konomiya Tamaki.

For the longest time I’ve wanted this figure. Yet I could never find a place that sold her at a reasonable price. I’ve seen places that sold her for close to $100 AUD, where really she is only worth half of that. However my prays were answered as my good friends over at Tamarket had one in stock at a reasonable price and I was able to buy her from Animania as seen in my somewhat large expenditure. Although there may be some who express their love for Nemu and the siscon, and I myself prefer Kotori, Tamaki would be my other love from the Da Capo series.

Her storyline in the Da Capo game I can’t quite remember clearly, something along her powers was foresight, but I liked her character a lot as she brings out a feeling of maturity and finesse, as well as a sense elegance and beauty. Plus her being a miko is just so awesome. But I would say what draws me to her is the beauty in her long darkish blue hair and her long slender legs. Not exactly a moé type of person, but one definitely in my book favourites.

And just for extras, here are some of the event CGs from the Da Capo games of Tamaki. Hopefully these will explain my she is my second love from Da Capo.

Photography Notes

Let me just get this out first, I suck at doing creative indoor photo shoots, lol. This was taken at the front of my house at the front door where there is a wooden table with ornaments. As this figure was of Tamaki and she is a miko, I actually wanted to take her to a temple of some sort, but there’s nothing like that around Sydney. Not to mention how I would explain to them I want to take pictures of a figure. The little flower things came from a neighbour’s garden that I “borrowed” from and it took me about an hour to pick off all the little bits.

My original vision for this idea was to have a bunch of these little flowers surround her, but my patience grew thin as well as my tolerance for the heat that I was photographing this in. Still it’s a lesson to be learnt, depending on the type of scenario you thinking of, it’ll take time and effort. Something which I lack thereof. But it didn’t take away the fun of taking photos of Tamaki and I’m glad that I finally took photos of her. Also this was the first time I used the MacBook with the shiny camera. Hooray for portable photo editing!

I like how you did this photo shoot, it captures her elegance yet sexiness ;p. She does look cute in the CG and is undeniably moe in my book. This reminds me to take pictures of my own figures soon lol, though I might not have time with school starting next week, but I will see if I can make time.

There should be some chinese temple in sydney (buddhist, not shinto tho ^^), but this indoor aren’t bad :D I like the setting of the photo, and the angles of picture 4 and 8

But I don’t like lay down type figurine :( they take too much space and not that visible..

    Lovely XD
The flowers really do make it elegant, and I love the two statues at the back.
I would of thought they’d be some nice Buddhist temples, or at least Japanese gardens in Sydney for you to take photos in.

My friend managed to get this figure while we were in Japan in 2006 at a reduced price, something like 2,000 yen at a hobby warehouse store in Asakusa.

AS: School or work, we never seem to have enough time these days :(

ron~:I know of only one, but temples tend to be quite busy with people, and they probably wouldn’t like the idea of me taking photos there. I like kying down figures as you can place them anywhere. I don’t find them taking up too much room at all since they can squeeze in between other figures.

Aya Kyunik: Yeah like I mention to ron~ above, not easy. ¥2000 is damn cheap, wish I could buy some at that price.

V2: Tamaki appears in the Da Capo Second Season anime, plus she was an extra character added in Da Capo Plus Communication.

Well I kinda understand why she’s your second love from Da Capo, she’s indeed gorgeous although she looks a bit fragile. The pics are lovely, also there must always be a pantsu shot ^^, one thing I find funny is that her legs don’t touch the floor XD

Nice, the flower is really a nice touch. It does take time and effort to get the settings for the scenario that we have in mind, that’s why if I am lazy I just go with simple backdrop. Actually I been quite lazy lately and go for the simple settings only ^^

Haha I like your notes at the end of the article ^^
It must have been a bit tricky to take picture of this figure, considering her pose. Anyway, the result is lovely!

So Tamaki is from DCSS… that’s why I didn’t remember her, and was not really interrested in this figure, since I’ve only seen the first Da Capo anime (only found the two first episodes of DCSS subbed… and did not relly like the chara design).
But wow, those CGs of her are great!
