Moé Moé Rabu

If there is anything I could say about this episode, it would be this: EPIC! Really there hasn’t been a Hayate no Gotoku episode at all that could match this level of such awesomeness and this is easily the best episode out of the entire series so far. The whole build up towards this was a big let down, but that’s all in the past and it was all for this moment. But the thing that made this such an awesome episode was mainly the references that were used like every other episode, but this time around it was Gurren-Lagann. I really didn’t expect that since I saw the elevator shaft from Evangelion, but only to have the Gurren-Lagann appear.

Impressions

The drawing style of this episode was also different to usually and it was similar to that of Gurren-Lagann with all the sharp character designs and that oddly animation flow that you get only from fast-paced animes. Plus add in all the action sequences it satisfied what I’ve been craving for in Hayae no Gotoku. Although the best battles were definitely Hinagiku’s and Himegami, but I’m rather saddened that hayate didn’t fight all that much, not to mention attacking the snake, I thought at that moment he would discover his hisatsu, but I’m sure we’ll see that later.

Himegami’s role is finally explained in all of this and it was a rather weak reason. But then we don’t know what kind of person Himegami really is, but at least we got to see his face at the end of the episode. I can only speculate that Himegami will make another appearance before the end of the series and I’m still hoping that we see a battle between Himegami and Hayate. Seeing how the snake was the manipulator, I really didn’t expect a turn out like that, but since this is Hayate no Gotoku, it’s full of randomness at it’s best.

So we’ve now reached the end of the 3rd cour of Hayate no Gotoku, and now there should only be one left. Seems that the series is going back to the manga but given that there is only 13 episodes left, it makes me wonder what the next arc is and how will they approach it. I can only speculate that Hayate will earn his hisatsu before the series end, but for the time being, I hope the awesomeness of Hayate will continue just like it has for the past 5 episodes. Oh and hooray as I’m finally up to date with Hayate no Gotoku!
