What’s this? An episode where Hayate has less screen time than the other characters? Well even the main character deserves a break now and then, but also it goes to show that a series can still be enjoyable without the main character. So this episode mainly focuses on Nagi trying to find out what being normal is about, and with most of the other characters around her being rather unique in their individual ways, there is only one other person that can show her the way. Nishizawa Ayumu.

Impressions
I’ve always loved seeing episode of where Ayumu was involved and this is no exception. Her quest for ever delicious cake, with Nagi in tag, turned out to be a rather nice development between the two rivals, plus seeing them both hold something dear to them in relation to Hayate was pretty funny. But I think the better parts are definite Nagi’s attempt at understanding what normal is about. Eventually she realises that it’s just a toned down version of what she normally does, but there will still always be that huge difference between the rich and poor. Also Ayumu with her hair down sure looks different. Guess I’m just too used to seeing her twintails.
Despite Hayate not appearing much this episode, he was still there. I would never have picked out those parts of where he appeared. Plus with the other characters making a very random appearance at the end is just the way a Hayate episode should end, on total randomness. Too bad Hinagiku wasn’t in with all that randomness. Next episode seems to have Himegami make his appearance and the continuation of the Butler Battle!
