Moé Moé Rabu

Let me just say this, this episode was PURE LOVE. Just when I thought that Hayate no Gotoku was starting to be awesome again, they throw a curve ball at us and make this a Maria x Hayate episode. Really, Maria hasn’t had a lot of screen time in the past few episodes but this just makes up for all that time. We get to see a side of Maria that we haven’t seen before, but it also does show that she is also a girl. A very lively, sweet 17 year old girl. Although seeing her in a maid outfit is awesome and all, but casual clothing is good once in a while.

Impressions

Although it was a Hayate and Maria date, we needed some added humour, and who better than Yukiji and the girls. Although I kind of was hoping to see Hinagiku and see her all jealous over Hayate having a date with Maria, but I think the humour thing works better. Nagi is such a child as well, in terms of realising the decisions that she does, such as sending out Hayate to dating spots, and having Maria take the day off. But really, I did find it amusing how Nagi was in Hayate’s room and is all deredere over the things in his bedroom. Oh and I didn’t expect Tama to be into that sort of thing, but hiding it in Hayate’s room was gold.

Such a shame as well since we probably won’t get another Maria episode like this for the rest of the series since Hayate is all about being episodic. So other than the episodes of Hinagiku fanservice, this has just shot straight to the top of one of the best Hayate episodes for me, simply because of all the Maria love. Next episode we’re focused on Klaus, another character who hasn’t gotten a lot of screen time for probably the past 20 or so episodes. I think after the appearance of the mysterious person, who I still believe is Himegami, we’re gonna be doing some filler episodes until we get back on track with the Butler Battle stuff.
