Moé Moé Rabu

Each week, my love for this show keeps growing and growing. I just love how we can spend a good half of an episode with jokes and interaction amongst the characters, and then they bring out something as beautiful as that scene of Kotomi opening the window. For that time frame, I’m quite sure my heart stopped beating. At this point, I can say that I am definitely a Kotomi fan, and with Mamiko Noto as the seiyuu, oh god it’s just a perfect package.

Impressions

I don’t find it very surprising how the girls find Kotomi childish, but in a good way. Her nature is pure but it does bring to question the kind of upbring that she had since she seems to be afraid of other people, probably because she thinks they will bully her. But I also find it rather surprising how she does what Kyou tells her to do, such as practicing her swings. But damn, gotta love those hip movements, lol. All these cute little things that she does, even to the way she speaks make her seem very childish, but when Kotomi begins to be that little bit serious, you can see that she is quite a bishoujo. Despite her spending more time with Nagisa, Ryou, and Kyou, I do feel that she is getting that much closer with Tomoya, but I do wonder what the significance is of her seeing a rabbit, a deer, and then Tomoya. Also I do question when Kotomi asked Tomoya if they could read a book together, as you can take that two ways, but the end result is that she does want to become closer to Tomoya and she is quite happy with him around.

Kotomi’s violin recital was damn hilarious, and I can only hope that we see more of it in later episodes. But it should be about time that we start getting deeper into the Kotomi storyline now that the mysterious man has approached Kotomi, and she is frightened of him. I do get the feeling that man is probably working for her parents and is keeping a watchful eye over her for them, but that is only a speculation at this point. So many things have been raised about Kotomi int he past two episodes and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out.

Kyou and Ryou definitely got some nice development in this episode. It’s blatantly obvious that Kyou is trying to set Tomoya and Ryou up, but when she questions Tomoya at the bus stop, I do question if she was asking for Ryou’s sake, or for herself. I do think we still have a long way till Ryou and Kyou’s arc, but I just hope it’s not the next one, I prefer it to be the second last one. Also seeing Tomoya’s imagination of Kyou being a magical girl was pure gold. Check out the merchandise of the week to see something related to that. Next episode should hopefully start revealing more about Kotomi’s hidden secrets.

Merchandise of the Week

Yes I have finally decided to add in the Merchandise of the Week for my Clannad posts! Personally I’m not even sure how much Clannad merchandise I actually own, and I’m pretty sure most of it aren’t even that rare either. Well not rare to me, but possibly rare to others. Moving along after having watched this episode and saw the Mahou Shoujo Kyou scene, that reminded me of this doujin below:

This was bought WAY back at Comiket 69 and I was pretty green in knowing what I should be doing. This doujin was bought randomly as at that point, I just wanted everything that I saw. In fact, after a whole day of buying doujins, I wasn’t even sure what I had. But I’m glad I got this. Also this is the first issue out of a series. I have many other Clannad doujins, but I’ll see how I go with each week’s merchandise and show off one at a time. But if I have enough, I’ll post more than one.
