Hayate no Gotoku! - 32

I mentioned in the last episode that the Butler Battles were getting ridiculous and stupid, however in this episode, it took me by surprise. Having Nabeshin make a guest appearance in Hayate no Gotoku was actually pretty awesome as his character fits in so well in the Hayate world it’s almost natural. Not to mention that in the last few episodes we haven’t had many other guests seiyuu/characters if you exclude some of the new characters that have joined the cast, but so far Nabeshin is the best Butler Battle so far mainly due to his character.

Impressions

Well there was certainly a lot more time spent with Nabeshin than I thought, but eventually we got to the second story and it’s all about Isumi. Isumi hasn’t had much screen time recently so this is a rather welcomed episode as I’m a fan of Isumi. I loved how we see Isumi as usual at the start, but then we see that she is actually quite a powerful exorcist and she saved Hayate and Sakuya with little to no effort. But at least we do find out that the reason Nagi is afraid of the dark is because of Isumi. Although it doesn’t go into detail, I can guess that Isumi took Nagi with her on one of her ghost hunts and it scared Nagi quite a lot. Even though they are all still kids, Isumi is quite mature for her age and she realises the pain that she caused Nagi.

Recently I had thought that the series had deviated from the manga, however I recently read the 7th volume of the manga and the recent episodes are still a part of the manga. So far it seems that SynergySP is just taking out the short one off parts of the manga in hopes to reach the 52 episode mark. I really wish they would pick out some of the longer stories rather than try for the one off things, but next episode is the school festival, and it appears it’ll go for at least two episodes. Either way, more Hinagiku action is always welcomed.
