Well after an eventful practice match, Bamboo Blade has taken a step away from kendo and focusing on Tamaki’s quest for burning shounen awesomeness, in the form of a DVD boxset. But what we get out of this episode is that we see another side to Tamaki, other than the skilled kendo fighter that she is. Heck, I think this is the only episode where I’ve heard her speak so much, and in a more relaxed tone as well. I wonder if it’s because she is a part of the kendo club now and how she has become friends with Kirino, Sayako, and Miyako in which she is a little less shy and a bit more relaxed.

Impressions

Seeing all of Tamaki’s reactions and her imagination are pretty funny and cute, but I think the best part of this episode was seeing Dan-kun’s sidecar. It’s definitely something that suits Dan-kun and Miyako, so I’m hoping we’ll see more of these quirky and surprising aspects of the characters. One of the other funny parts of this episode was how Kirino and Sayako were bowing for forgiveness to Miyako when her dark side showed up. They are just the best pair in this series, and the most hilarious, but I can’t be sure whether it’s their stupidity, or something else.

Well it seems that Tamaki will be having a part-time job for a bit longer, or until she can finally get her DVD boxset. Next episode seems we’re back to kendo training, though I’m certainly surprised they decided to use Satori for the preview, where she has only appeared briefly in the past few episodes. Does that mean she’ll get introduced soon? I hope so as I’m interested in seeing what kind of character she is, and how she’ll be adding to the laughter that is already present in the show.
