Finally, the last set of photos from a whopping 160 photos. Just as I was reaching the end of the exhibition hall, I came closer to the Centre Stage, where they had already started the “Miss Autosalon” competition. I just caught it as they were going through the swimsuit part of it. But damn it sucks to be short, couldn’t get a decent shot. So hit the jump to check out the last set of photos. So there goes another year of cars and girls. Each time I attend Autosalon, I’m amazed by some of the things that people do to their cars, but then a lot of it is usually the same stuff, or some crazy weird stuff. However this year’s Final Battle, there wasn’t that many “WTF” type cars. What I mean by that is something like having mini TV screens in the headlights, or in the bonnet of the car. Still, I wish I was still going to Japan at the end of the year because I would’ve had the chance to attend Autosalon Tokyo. Oh well, such is life.

As mentioned, photos were taken with a Canon 400D, 18-5mm f3.5-5.6, and a Speedlite 580EX II. Last time I didn’t have the Speedlite, but damn did this thing cause me grief. A lot of the time, the flash didn’t even fire at all, or at times, it would switch between TTL oe ETTL mode. This was driving me mad and I eventually found out why this was happening. Because the way the locking mechanism of the 580 EX II has been redesigned, it doesn’t actually sit securely on the 400D. In fact I can move it a little, and that is just enough to make the Speedlite not respond to the camera’s commands, or switch modes. I tried to fix the issue but putting some paper near the clamps to give it a tighter clamp, but it still moves a bit.

So I think in the future, I may look towards acquiring a 580 EX second hand, but the only places cheap are eBay USA. I wish I had a friend in the US who could bid for me and ship it to me, since we know people rip you off with shipping on eBay.
